Worst street repaving ever?

That looks like the street was stripped to be repaved. The DOT just hasn't repaved the street yet.

If that's what it was, why did DOT only pave portions of it after channel 11 called them?

They just leveled out the drop off and manhole covers like they do when the strip the parkways before they repave them. That is obviously not the paving job.

But why not tell the news station that they are on a schedule and when the paving will take place? Why are our spokespeople incompetent as well as the policy makers?

Good question, but that is still not the paving job.

Who's getting all these lucrative repaving contracts....the same ones contributing to the local pols' campaigns?

The worst repaving is after Con Ed finished digging a newly-repaved street for cable repair, and fixes the dug-up areas horribly.

I remember walking home from Flushing high school along 35th avenue and seeing those Italian and Irish DOT people drinking on the job.

Real scum bags if you ask me. Favoritism and nepotism at it's best... or worst.

Wow! You're old! Now-a-days all those workers are from the Caribbean!

LOL....
maybe we should close those roads and replace them with pedestrian malls and bike lanes.

Wadda ya think Sadik?

They are simply NOT fixing roads anymore.

I remember seeing the patch trucks go around each spring.

I dont think i have seen one crew like that in at least two years now.
