Household garbage in public trash cans

The Sanitation Department has a platoon of enforcement agents tasked with enforcing litter basket laws. Their duties even include doing detective work on trash suspected of being illegally dumped.
“What the enforcement agent will do, occasionally, they’ll come to a bag. They’ll open up the bag and see if they can find something with an address and we try and address the situation,” Sanitation supervisor Joe Delfino said.
During the past year, the Sanitation Department issued around 2,000 summonses for improper use of a city litter basket.
I like how the reporter explains how to avoid detection at the end. That was helpful.

When they find those items with addresses in the garbage, perhaps they should pass it on to the DOB to have the illegal tenants who dump their garbage in the street cans investigated. Oh, nevermind, they'll just find it back in the garbage.

Perhaps CBS2 should look in our Queens parks and view all the household trash that is plopped there by landscapers, handy-men, home re-hab guys and lazy residents.
But hey, it's Queens so it ain't news.
I went to Williamsburg on the Bedford avenue station and I was AMAZED that there was a garbage can on EVERY block on EVERY corner for a 15 square block radius in that neighborhood. I walk down Main Street and Roosevelt avenue in Flushing and once you go 2 or 3 blocks from the subway station you don't see a garbage can for miles, but you do see PLENTY of garbage.
I once fought a ticket for dumping a magazine into the trash after i read it. Of course, it had been delivereed to my house. I asked the ALJ, if the city would rather I throw it on the ground, instead of the basket, and she told me, "you'll get a ticket for that too." I said "really?" she said, well, if you're caught. Just like dog walkers who don't pick up. Right. The city goes after the low hanging fruit. What a joke.
How about the army of elderly poor Chinese folks who rip apart my garbage bags at the curb and rifle through my garbage cans and throw stuff all over the place?
I feel for these folks but this is not the 3rd world and I demamd enforcement. So what if household garbage is found in public cans? At least it's in the can and it doesn't mean someone threw their own garbage there but someone else brought it there because they rifle through all our garbage looking for treasures like deposit cans and bottles!
Arrest the Asian and Hispanic can-pickers.
Arrest the illegal dumpers.
but PICK UP CITY CANS MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK.
They used to be picked up daily in Queens, now, only when they collect household trash.
Come sunday, EVERY can down Myrtle Ave is overflowing. Its disgusting.

At least the containers are being used to collect some garbage, because they're clearly not collecting street litter.
sanitation enforcement only in occurs in White neighborhoods. yes it will happen in Bay Ridge but will not happen in Jackson Heights. See how much garbage the Muslim street vendors create there. How come they are never cited for destroying trees while they are vending?
Illegal alien and Hispanic neighborhoods do not get sanitation enforcement tickets because a lot of the agents are Spanish and from the Caribbean.
Do what I used to do when I lived in NYC: I just threw out all non-addressed trash in public cans. If the city sanitation department cared maybe they would empty them daily instead of paying a "garbage detective" a salary to stake out a can. Sheesh! Long live Queens Crapper! Long live Israel! Death to the Palestinians!
