Voter registration to include race?

From the NY Post:

A Bronx assemblyman wants to force voters to identify their race and ethnicity on voter-registration forms, The Post has learned.

But Democrat Peter Rivera's bill is being panned even before it's been introduced.

Critics fear that the data could be used by campaigns for targeted mailings or to avoid reaching out to certain voters.

Rivera, however, defended the measure, saying it merely aims to make sure that voters are not underrepresented.

The information collected, he insisted, would be kept in a public database and help officials, organizations and historians to analyze populations and race.

I guess we could add religion to that list? Maybe if we could tell whether the voter was a man or a woman? Sexual orientation anyone?

Anyone who knows how to read a list of names can determine, for the most part, a voter's race, ethnicity and religion. Just how lazy is this guy?

This is a way to suppress voting by students and minorities.

They already do target mailings. There are organizations that sell mailing lists based on race and/or religion. All campaigns buy these lists.

They already do that. Most campaigns buy lists that break down
voters by registration, religions, race, etc. It's nothing new.

Maybe it should ask if you can speak English, since you are supposed to know English to become a citizen and to be a citizen before you can vote. Can't figure out why all these people who can't speak English are allowed to vote.

Government-issued id required: to board an aircraft, rent a car, get a library card, membership at a gym, for a parent to enter a public school, etc.

No identification required: to vote.

Why not make up fake races? Will you be genetically tested? Personally, I am an albino-African American with blue eys.

What about toenail size? I mean how better to defeat voter fraud than to measure toenails at the polls? Now, when other countries have religion or ethnicity on their ID cards, these same hypocrites are up in arms.
