zoned for r-2a, it remains to be seen if it conforms, when construction is approved.

Actually, the community is not after me because I am not planning to sell my house to a developer. In fact I would NEVER do that. Judy, on the other hand, doesn't care about her community so long as she makes money. She'll probably retire to Florida and leave the damage she's done behind.
Imagine that, a community demands that its character not be destroyed. I bet the quality of life there is gold.

while i hate to see what will be built here, the existing house as it is goes to prove that age does not automatically mean charm.
