Mario gets into the act

From CBS:

Now batting in the legal mess involving Bernard Madoff and the Mets: Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo.

A federal bankruptcy judge in Manhattan appointed Cuomo on Thursday to serve as a mediator in a legal dispute between the Mets owners and the court-appointed trustee trying to recover money for victims of Madoff’s Ponzi scheme.

The trustee, Irving H. Picard, has accused Mets owners Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz, chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon and affiliated Sterling Equities entities of making $300 million in fictitious profits from Madoff’s swindle and ignoring warnings that Madoff’s returns were implausible.

From WFAN:

Moody’s Investors Service says it has lowered its outlook on the company that operates Citi Field, citing the potential for pending litigation against the owners of the Mets.

The ratings firm said Thursday it cut the outlook on Queens Ballpark Co. LLC to “Negative,” but maintained its “Ba1″ rating on the company’s bonds.

Moody’s says the move reflects the potential that pending litigation against the owner of the Mets, Sterling Mets LP, could hurt attendance at the ballpark.

Aw, this was a really great post. In theory I'd like to write like this also - taking time and real effort to make a good article... but what can I say... I procrastinate a lot and never seem to get something done.

Mets will get a real owner with real money not fake fabricated money stolen from their fellow Jews leaving them penniless and broken in old age. The Wilpons now will experience what they were taught - it's hell to be persecuted - you die from the relentlessness of pursueing the wrongs of their deeds.

both wilpon and cuomo played baseball in the late 1940's and 50's. Lafayette H.S. and ST.John's Prep/St. John's University, respectively.

Cuomo told me that he got a larger bonus to sign professionally, than MICKEY MANTLE ?????

Sandy Koufax was the pitcher for Lafayette H.S. and played on their n.y.c. championship basketball team.
he went to U. of Cincinnati on a basketball scholarship.

cuomo's sports ability =yes, his politics =no

If memory serves me correctly, Mario testified at the City Council hearings in '09 FOR extending term limits to three. It turned out, as the Village Voice later revealed, that Mario's law firm represented non-profit organizations that were recipients of Bloomberg's largesses.

That is correct. How fitting that they scratched each others back.

This is sooo shady. It's really sad that they do this and do it so blatantly.
