Did 911 mistake delay fire response?

From NY1:

The New York City Fire Department says it's investigating a claim that inaccurate information by a 911 dispatcher delayed the response to a fire in Queens on Saturday.

Eight people were hurt in the early morning blaze.

It broke out on the second floor of a home located at 76-72 47th Avenue in Elmhurst.

One man was burned over 25 percent of his body.

Four other civilians and three firefighters were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The fire department says the flames were under control in just under an hour.

2 fires around the same time at 2 different locations.

76-72 79th Street-Glendale 12:58pm
76-72 47 Ave-Elmhurst,1 block north of Queens Blvd.-1:00pm.

I passed by the Elmhurst fire the say after and window bars were all over. I guess the fear of getting your home burglarized is greater then getting burned in a fire since it's much harder to get out.

that looks like one of those quickly built non regulated apartments that are built on the lot where one house used to be.

I have had 911 dispatchers think my Whitestone calls were for the Bronx. But when I call the local precinct, they insist I log it on 911. Keep your precinct and fire station numbers always handy. Don't trust 911.
