From the Daily News:
Sean Bell's fiancée has the potential to turn a crowded Queens City Council race upside down - if she moves into the district.
Up to a dozen candidates are looking at jumping into the competition to fill the unexpired term of the late Councilman Thomas White Jr.
Nicole Paultre Bell, whose fiancé died in a hail of police bullets almost four years ago, brings name recognition and a heart-stopping personal story.
She declined to outline her political plans, though a source close to her confirmed she is considering a run.
She lives outside the district in Far Rockaway, and is still registered to vote at her mother's house in Suffolk County. Under state election law, however, Bell would have to move into the district by Election Day - and get 899 signatures from registered voters on her nominating petitions.
Bell has been a regular at the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network, and may be able to count on his support for a run as well.

Her qualifications:Lived with a convicted felon who never held a real job and sold drugs, carried a gun. She'll probably get elected.
Someone to hate more than Charles Barron and Sharpton? No way...
Whats her platform? I need something good to laugh at
How does she get to use the Bell name when never married the guy?
"How does she get to use the Bell name when never married the guy?"
she took it, like everything else in her life she wanted, she just took it.
I was kinda hoping Allen Jennings would run for that seat again, lotsa laughs.

She legally changed it to "honor his memory." You can legally change your name to whatever you want, but it doesn't make you a widow when the criminal whose name you took gets shot down for being a criminal.
Allan Jennings and her in the same race, its gonna be a sideshow.
Another carpet bagger. We have Cox in Sufolk county. Lives in Manhattan and wants to get elected in Suffolk. They should make it illegal to run where you have not lived for a year and when you do not vote like the DA from Nassau, Rice. The candidates are really getting to be a bad choice. Then this new voting method where you write on a ballot is another joke.

They should make it illegal for cops to work in precincts in which they do not live or at least make illegal for cops work in COUNTIES they don't even live in.
Nicole Bell for president!
Cops should live in the County they work in. Only problem, can you get enough NYC passing grades to be hired?
What's the chances of her of her being a fair representative for all the people of the district? Not likely.
I think the candiates for office are getting worse all the time. No one is truly qualified. They go in poor come out rich. Hey, I lived in Queens from 39-1956 and managed to graduate Jackson, do I qualify? Got to admit my spelling and grammer stinks.
Her name may ring a bell, but she has paltry qualifications -- except for one historic achievement.
New York City finally has a street named for a drunk driver. Of course, as one of the honored dead, it's impolitic to bring that up in polite company.
Will she ever remarry, or continue to dwell on the dead fiancee's memory?

She can't re-marry, b/c she was not married. And why should she? She's hot, brilliant, rich and now she's going to run for office. I see another Melinda Katz in the making.
She's a vegetarian also?
I wish her well - she's is trying to turn a very dark period of her life into doing good for others.
That alone is commendable.
Why get a real job when you can become a politician.

Hahahahahah....
Hey, Babs, there's a bridge in Brooklyn with your name on it!
How long do you think the marriage would have lasted if he hadn't died that night?
Probably as long as everyone else's - but, guess what Sunshine -everyone who loves has been at the same point in time as this young woman.
My first marriage ended in divorce 10 years later - but, those years prior to the marriage going sour - were some of the best years of my life - AND I was so very deeply and completely in love with my husband. The PAIN of being abruptly separated from each other at that point of our relationship would have been unbearable - as I'm sure it was for this woman.
ALL who have been lucky enough to truly in love understand her.
God help us all..........
"New York City finally has a street named for a drunk driver."
"Sean Bell Way" is a street sign UNDERNEATH the official "Liverpool Street" signage. The site of the shooting and beyond is still Liverpool Street. I photographed the pole the other day. The "Sean Bell Way" sign means nothing.
