Council Member Dan Halloran (R-Whitestone) shows off his martial arts skill by breaking a board at the National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 3 in Flushing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtNNZ0YnW1g Here is my interview with Dan on the budget crisis in Albany and how it might impact NYC -- look at the date...and Albany still has not balanced the budget.

I am exhausted -- enjoy your break Queens Crap and thank you!
What a hipocrite! During his campaign, Halloran claimed that he wanted to get elected to stop the overdevelopment in places like Flushing. He even had a campaign mailing superimposing his opponents picture over the street of Flushing saying that if his opponent won then the overdevelopment of Queens would get out of control! What is Flushing Commons but the DEVELOPMENT of thousands of housing units, businesses and the REMOVAL of an affordable municipal parking lot?????
What happened to his campaign platform in less than a year? I know many Conservatives voted for him because he said he would vote against overdevelopment. Oh well, one-term is already even too long to watch this hypocrite in office.
the following demolitions are in auburndale zip/11358 for midsummer 2010 ,c.p.b.11 :
42-03 195st....48-08 192 st...196-43 50th ave...47-40 189st...47-48 F.lewis blvd. as this area is not re-zoned ,the developers are going to have a ball. converting one family lots into 6-10 family brick, without trees on the property.
adiditional demolitions are in douglaston/little neck where zoning was completed in the n.east of queens : also c.p.b 11, 60-31 255st...246-14 cambria ave...60-31 255st.. 51-01 redfield st...60-36 255st..46-22 hanford st... 249-79 beechknoll st..76-20 222st..64-21 230st..
one c.m. vote does not carry the issue. it takes the whole city council to carry an issue.sometimes a party in power allows the member to vote with the trend of his district. i.e.on property tax increase avella voted against the increase while his democrat c.m.'s all voted for them. that takes avella off the hook with his district. i believe he truthfully was against the increases. but if the party needed his vote badly ,you know what would have happened.
my point is the n.e.of queens is not immune from the developers. many of them are major donors to the party in control. check the campaign finance records. you will be shocked.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt

Let that be a lesson to anyone thinking of running against him!!!
With his ample girth Halloran appears to have spent a lot of time packing in the beef (and ale) at Keen's Olde English Chop House.
Gee...I'm impressed.
Now why did "doofy" Dan approve Flushing Commons?
How come he didn't drop kick asshole Republican party buddy Peter Koo?
Not to worry....both are one termers...and we'll be rid of them soon.
Tis true...
But unfortunately, Flushing Commons is forever.
can we see a roll call vote on the Flushing Commons ?
the public has to have all the facts. PACE YOURSELF SUZANNAH......

All of Dan's BS about preventing over development was just to stop Kevin Kim in his tracks.
Kim, obviously an Ackerman butt boy, would have been far worse than C.M. "H" for under developed Auburndale, Bayside, Broadway...you get the idea now.
No over development in the northeast but plenty to make up for it in downtown Flushing.
A fair exchange....huh?
R1-2a down zoning in the posh nabes and the maximum upzoning for
the Roosevelt & Main environs.
"Forget it Jake it's Chinatown".
Make that "Wellingtowne" in honor of Mr. Chen and his "TDC, F&T, Fultonex", etc. associates!
