I would say the management of this spa allowed itself to be taken by a co artist and that the client who was robbed, was short changed in the end. I recommend not using this establishment.
I've been to Spa Castle, and they have a "wall of shame" in the lobby containing photos of visitors who have slipped out without paying. These are photos from video cameras that are located in the lobby. I find it incredible that management was not able to identify the individual who robbed this person's locker.
Wall of shame? Just like the supermarket in Flushing. I guess our local politicians need the votes of the growing Asian community and let them create their own set of laws! Welcome to the disUnited States of America. This ain't your grandparents America any more. Hang your collective heads in shame for allowing this to happen. Didn't history teach people a lesson. Silence didn't work in Germany prior to WWII. Think it'll work now?
Friend of mine told me that about 6 people had their lockers/cars broken into and wallets stolen over at LA Fitness in Little Neck.
There must be a ring - AND they are watching people. Since people's lockers were broken into - people had been leaving their wallets in their cars which were parked in the lot.
They probably have someone working staff in the gyms/spas to help them also with this - maybe security personnel.
Bottom line - Be extra careful now at ALL fitness spots.
Go to the samll steam-sauna-massage-spas, not this giant place. It's the Home Depot of spas, no personal treatment, not very relaxing and too many people coming and going.
LA Fitness has been a problem for a long long time. It's unfortunate that no one can pressure LA Corporate to take some initiative. There was even a story of someone getting their cash and jewelery robbed from the lockers INSIDE the gym, 10' from the the front desk!! We NEED A NEW SET OF POLITICIANS. YOUNG, ENERGETIC, HUNGRY, AGRESSIVE, and INTELLIGENT to go out there and make things happen. Make people accountable.
As for Spa Castle? There's a divide between the Asian American community and the everyone else. It's unfortunate but it'll take a generation to fix....I hope.
Crime unfortunately happens everywhere. What finally drove me out of NY was the lousy service & fucked up attitude that businesses have towards their customers. My last straw was being cursed out at a Nissan dealership when I filed a complaint with NYC. I was asked to come in for a meeting and the manager told me that if I didn't like how he ran the dealership that I could go fuck myself.

New Angela Day Spa on Metro is great;, clean, quiet, and pleasant. - They have a locker right in your massage room. The $45.00 massage with lava rocks is wonderful.
The battle cry of the anti Braunstein team should be "Remember the sign at Bayside High". Ed was instrumental in complaining that the sign that served a very important function for the 50 community groups that use the school. It seems that he is more concerned about the small light emitted from the sign than he is about the community. He should be soundly rejected by the community.

This place has a very foolish staff. One should not feel comfortable leaving valuables secured under a lock that is not one's own.

Their van drivers speed up and down Flushing and College Point streets and I've noticed that their vans have no commercial plates.

Hmmm...crime happens everywhere, yet when it happened here some people make it out to be an asian issue. Just a thought.
