QUEENS (WABC) -- A second-alarm fire tore through a several stores on a commercial strip in the Fresh Meadows section of Queens.The fire burned through the businesses on Union Turnpike just after 1:30 a.m. Friday. Flames shot through the roof of the one-story strip.
A nail salon, a restaurant and an Allstate insurance business were damaged.
Firefighters put out the flames in about 40 minutes.

No mention on here about the Fedora Foods Warehouse Fire in Willets Point?
The damaged restaurant was Cooking with Jazz! :( They announced on their website they're closed indefinitely.
and i was looking forward going there tommorrow.oh well
Seems to me that there is sure a lot of store fires. Insurance or arsonist?
Did'nt realize that Cooking with Jazz took over the resturant that housed Vino. I remember the them in Whitestone - Great resturant. This fire is very unfortunate.
