ASTORIA (WABC) -- A stolen Mercedes Benz being chased by police crashed into two other vehicles in the Astoria section of Queens.The suspects lost control at the intersection of 31st Street and 36th Avenue just after 11:30 p.m. Monday.
The stolen car first crashed into a livery car and then a yellow taxi cab.
The drivers of both the taxi cab and livery car were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Two of the occupants of the Mercedes Benz were taken into custody. One was injured.
A third person fled the scene.

I guess the yellow cab and livery car were guilty bystanders, the drivers of both cars were probably lookouts for the car thieves.
The same place where those two kids were killed by a train last week.
Go over to Astorians.com and read thread after thread after thread of car break-ins, wild party scenes, property destruction, gunfire on Steinway Street, etc.
Yuppies? Hipsters? Come on, they can't be caught dead in the tedious Astoria cafe scene (or in LIC for that matter)

I was there. Car crashed into a mosque after being hit by stolen Mercedes cops were chasing.
Destroyed 2 more parked cars and busted the doorway of the apts over the mosque.
Same place as last weeks subway deaths. The 114 is a bunch of clowns.
Not enough cops.........and the ones out there have little experience.

How exactly does this make the 114 "a bunch of clowns"? The Mercedes they were chasing crashed, the cop car didn't.
At least the cars were still in the street for most of the ride.
On the corner of Astoria Park South and 18th Street a few weeks ago, I saw an impatient driver mount the sidewalk and peel around the corner. still on the sidewalk, at high speed because traffic had backed-up in front of him.
Imagine suddenly encountering that on your morning stroll?
That exact thing happened to me once while I was standing at a bus stop. Scary shit.
