The brick outside Citi Field commemorating the 1986 World Series win by the New York Mets appears to be incorrect.
The winner of Game 7 was Roger McDowell, not Sid Fernandez.A team that doesn't know its past has no future.

Sid Fernandez has more "ethnic" appeal, Crapper.
Was at a Mets-Braves game a couple of years ago, Roger McDowell was their bullpen coach. couldn't believe the awful treatment he got from hecklers. They didn't know who he was.
is this an april fools joke??
I'm ashamed to be a Mets fan these days. What a JOKE!
Actually, I'm sad to say that nothing I posted today is a joke. It's all real!
It figures the Amazins would want their fans to forget about Roger McDowell . . . They're hoping the fans might also forget the criminal 1989 "deal" that sent Roger McD and Lenny Dykstra to the Phillies for the laughably overrated Juan Samuel.
I also remember that shortly after that trade, Roger was pitching for the Phils against the Mets and he got into a huge fistfight with Gregg Jefferies of the Mets. I don't remember the reason for the fight, but I do remember that most Mets fans (myself included) were rooting for Roger to win.
