There's now talk of the City being "forced" to close 62 fire companies and fire 1,000 firefighters. You see, the City is broke, and has no money.
But we do have money for this:
Mayor Mike Bloomberg & Governor David Paterson:
Kings of fucked up priorities.

Can you say "boondoggle"? That's the last thing the city in which so many things have gone wrong needs right now.
After 9/11 the feds were willing to pay to connect the LIRR from Atlantic Yards to WTC. The City/State slept on that, now if at some future point the city/state want to do that, it will be more complicated because Ratner's plan for Atlantic Yards doesnt provide for that future capacity. In fact it leaves tax payers holding the bag because the LIRR facilities in Brooklyn will need to be moved and upgraded.
I am so sick of the way my tax dollars are spent ....things that the Bloomberg administration rams down our throat. This is a disgrace.
Mayor Bloomberg: Keep our fire houses open and our school teachers working. We don't need another park or stadium or railway.
What an idiotic administration we have here.
See all the Pols with the shovels out to dig for gold? They have already struck it by placing us citizen's gold in the ground as a give away to this Developer.
It would have been welcome -- and fitting -- if there had been a "tragic" crane collapse at this ceremony, causing the demise or severe injury of Bloomberg, Ratner, and Markowitz, in particular. If only.
i just do not know why the National Basketball Association and the National Collegiate Athletic Association has so few white, asian and hispanic members on their teams?
those rotten racist capitalists.
Maspeth Mom says....
Then then government officals and politicians wonder why things like thay guy flying his plane into the IRS building happen. The frustration level of citizens is at the snapping point. This type of stuff doesnt help.
First, who wants to come to Brooklyn to watch a third rate team? Between Metro tec to the north and this,i can't wait to see the pm rush hour.
Heads must roll, roll, roll.
BTW, there was a story in this week's Crain's New York Business, stating that the City's Independent Budget Office has reported that New York City will finish the current fiscal year with "A SURPLUS OF JUST UNDER $3 BILLION".
The money's always there, the pols just lie about it.
