2 NY DMV workers charged in ID theft ring: fedsBRUCE GOLDING, NY Post
Two New York State DMV workers earned more than $1 million issuing driver's licenses with stolen identities to convicted felons -- including a sex offender, federal authorities announced today.
The US Attorney's office in Manhattan announced the arrest of the two employees and four others involved in the scam.
"The integrity of any security system, no matter how elaborate or expensive, is only as good as the integrity of the people who carry it out," Manhattan US Attorney Preet Bharara.
"Human integrity is every bit as important as cutting edge technology. And in these times, more than ever before, we cannot afford to have any weak links in our security chain."
An undercover officer investigating the ring got an ID after claiming to be on the feds' no-fly list who wanted to travel to Pakistan.
NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly added, "Identity fraud puts the public seriously at risk where it can easily be used to help everyone from con artists to terrorists. As recent events attest, New York remains on the top of the terrorist target list."
People are also apparently selling their dead kids' IDs to potential terrorists.

Looks like these employees were willing to sell out our country to the highest bidder. The should be prosecuted and then they should be executed for treason. They were aiding and abetting terrorists. Our country is at war. The money they made doing this is blood money. Thank God they were caught. Now it's time for the DMV to track down the people who obtained these ID's illegally and prosecute them.

This happened about ten years ago at the DMV out in Jamaica, I believe.
Over in N.J. I have "heard" of people getting ringers to take the written test and paying a "fee" to have this overlooked.
Granted this was back in the late 90's thru early 00's, but it seems little has changed. It appears even Bangkok is stricter than some of these DMV locations....believe me that is saying something.
There are thousands of bogus cdl licese holders out there. Not only that, there are thousands of uninsured drivers to match.
NYS should enact an insurance application that checks green card and birth certification in the event someone applies for insurance - to weed out the drivers license fraud issue. Drivers licence should not be primary ID any longer.

Let it be known that any DMV employee who facilitates a terrorist act through selling ID's this way will be treated as an accessory and sent straight to Guantanamo Bay and a few sessions with CIA torturers.
Its time for DMV New York to track down to whom they sold those IDs.
Yep, 10 years ago the DMV had something. What other offices are involved now? You think only the Bronx and Yonkers? And usually a higher clerk(sup)is involved. They will roll over if they are offered a deal.
