From the Daily News:
The case of the missing bus began just before 1 a.m. Sunday, when Greyhound's No. 6707 vehicle was stolen from a lot at 30th St. and 12th Ave. in Manhattan.
It wasn't seen again until 2:15 a.m.Wednesday, when a Peter Pan driver spotted it at 29th Ave. and Astoria Blvd. The batteries and keys were gone, a source said.
The bus went missing a second time when direction-challenged workers - who left to get mechanical help - forgot where it was.
"It sounds like [the workers] just went to the wrong spot," said a police source.
Residents, meanwhile, said the coach stood out "like a sore thumb" parked at the Q19 bus stop.
"It looked odd," said Tabi Tabssum, 40, who works nearby. "At first, I thought it stopped for a break, but then I did not see any passengers or driver."
Greyhound spokesman Timothy Stokes said the company was investigating.

That bus could have been loaded with explosives by terrorists and could have blown up the Mid-Town tunnel or other venues. Have you ever seen the cops guarding the tunnel stop and search busses?
Did they ticket it and leave it alone like their policy with stolen cars where the car sits until it is completely stripped and the owner gets thousands in tickets? I saw a stolen car abandoned in the entrance of a municipal parking lot feet from the 114th precinct, complete with plates and the cops who passed it a thousand times did nothing.
This won't be a problem anymore, the parking lot is now a building! Next time the thieves should drive the car into the lobby of the precinct.
"leave the driving to us", is now" leave the driving to the thieves."
at least the thief did not pick up the Queens gamblers and drive them to Las Vegas,Nev.

I don't know - ask Mr Public Safety Vallone. Its his district.
The community couldn't care less about that anyways, its the quality of pizza at the latest bistro and being able to add that extra room for mom (well, what they really mean is that new nine story building they want to put up on the block) that gets their dander up.
Problems in the community? Blame
(1) Con Ed, (2) airport noise, (3) power plants and (4) cellphone towers and let them alone!
Maybe they got lost because there's no such place as 29th Ave and Astoria Blvd.
Actually, yes there is.
Has anybody rode a Greyhound lately ?
The "rainbow" of body odor, baby crap and bogus air freshener likely stunk out the crooks.
The ones on the southern routes are the worst.
Bio test tubes on wheels
I had to take one from Mississippi to New Orleans 10 years ago when our tourbus broke down.
The people were just disgusting. My girlfriend at the time and I almost threw up a couple times.
