From the NY Post:
Who's the Republican king of Queens?
Longtime GOP county Chairman Philip Ragusa and his perpetual challenger, Bart Haggerty, both claim the office.
Haggerty, who worked on Mayor Bloomberg's re-election campaign last summer, filed papers with the Board of Elections saying he was voted chairman of the Queens County GOP on Oct. 3 at a Flushing reception hall.
That's the same date and location that Ragusa says he was re-elected.
"I opened the meeting as the sitting chair, and after all the votes were cast and counted, I was declared chairman of the executive committee and chairman of Queens County," Ragusa said.
But Haggerty insists he won -- and alleges that Ragusa's team used a faulty counting system.
"I believe I was elected, and I am operating as chair," Haggerty told The Post.
The Queens GOP relies on a weighted vote system that doesn't comply with state law, Haggerty said. But Haggerty once tried to litigate that point and his case was dismissed, said a lawyer for the Queens Republicans.

Barts father was involved in an identical dispute 25 years ago with Sheldon Farber.
You would think this party would be able to straighten out their rule book, but then it's only been a quarter century, give them a little more time...
Ragusa's mustache is better than Haggerty's facial stubble.
They both have big ears.
And you wonder why the Democrats get away with all that corruption...
Ragusa looks like Captain Kangaroo. He's got the bushy mustache and eyebrows, the turkey neck, and best of all the bright eyes, filled with mirth. All that is missing are the bangs.
Haggerty is a good looking young man. The dimples are nice and he's got a great smile. He should go in for a tooth bleaching though. That would take this to a whole new level.
Ragusa or Haggerty. Is there really any difference between them? Or is there any difference between Republicans or Democrats in this city?
Bart is free to challenge the results in court, but to claim to have won, when everybody in the room knows he lost, is simply astounding. The Haggertys filed false certificates in NYC and in Albany. If Cy Vance doesn't do something about that, maybe the Albany DA will. Or Cuomo. Enough is enough.

Helen Sears on the GOP line is Genius.
Isn't Bart "Twinkle Toes" Haggerty related to John "Money Launderer" Haggerty Jr?

Yes, yes they are. They got married in MA. I mean, they're brothers.

What's wrong with Helen Sears?
She doesn't like street vendors - neither do I. . . .
So, this is the Republican Party that keeps asking me for money? It can't even run its own election for county chairman...
They should let Helen Sears retire to Florida already.
She is past 80 years old, and lost her last re-election for city council because she had become tired and confused.
This is not fair to her and it is not fair to the voters.
Where did the $750,000 of Bloomberg's campaign funds go Mr. Haggerty?

And Helen Marshall won because...?

Goodbye Phil! You're a do nothing ego maniac.

But it's still funny!
"Goodbye Phil! You're a do nothing ego maniac."
And here's comes under-dog Bart to save the day???
Phil Ragusa is the puppet for the Queens County Vice Chair, Vince Tabone & Tabone is the bitch of Serf Maltese. They should investigate Serf and really make everyones head spin. Get someone in there that looks out for Republicans not themselves!! Bart Haggerty sounds like he is the one.
Good Luck Bart.
That last guy is funny. Bart is not going to look out for himself? Nope, he's going to look out for himself AND his money-laundering brother.
face it, Ragusa sucks but the Haggerty's are no better. In fact they are worse because they are in the pocket of Mayor Bloomsuck. No, we don't need Bloomie dictacting who the Queens Chair is...
mr. monopoly lost as the chairman of the republican party ? how sad.
maybe now tabone could go back to bringing over chicita bananas.
"Bart Haggerty sounds like he is the one. Good Luck Bart."
Yes, sweetie. You'll need good luck, and a good criminal defense attorney. Ask Dennis Gallagher for some referrals. Then hire someone else. You and John-john are going to jail. And Mayor Mike is sending you there to cover his ass. You were played like a cheap (skin) flute!!!
Give it up Phil!
The fate of the Republican party in Queens lies with new younger blood not with an old Walrus like Ragusa!

Bart's a 40 something year old who has never accomplished anything. What's your point, John?
It's good to know there is at least a contest going on. That is better than the very tired situation where offices have been lost gradually, one after another. Thank goodness Bloomberg headed up the ticket this past year so at least his coattails could draw in a handful of fresh council members.

You're kidding, right? Bloomberg may have helped Ulrich, but Koo and Halloran won on their own w/ solid QGOP support, the kid that Bloomberg hates. And what "contest" are you talking about? It's a lawsuit, not an election. And that's all Bart does, throw his name into contention and then sue when he loses. Rev. Phil Sica once asked him point blank, "What would you do as leader if you won?" HE HAD NO FREAKEN ANSWER!!!
