Suspect charged in JFK airport incident

From NY1:

Police have arrested the man they say was behind a security breach Saturday at JFK Airport that forced the evacuation of a busy terminal.

The Associated Press cites a Port Authority spokesman, identifying the man as Jules Paul Bouloute of Brooklyn.

They say the Haitian man was returning to the city from Haiti.

He's charged with criminal trespass and is expected to be arraigned today.

Officials say Bouloute was getting off a flight when he walked through a restricted door, which is only supposed to be used by airport workers.

After tripping the alarm, officials say they were forced to re-screen all passengers.

The incident caused major delays for dozens of flights and thousands of travelers were affected.

"Well it happens. I just hope that somebody gets caught. Put them in prison for doing this kind of stuff," said one airline passenger.

"It's really frustrating, especially because our plane was already fully boarded before the time the breach supposedly occurred. So it seems impossible our plane would have been implicated by the breach. So I'm not sure why we were part of the group that had to be re-screened but I guess that's the way it goes," said another airline passenger.

Terminal 8 handles both domestic and international flights for American Airlines.

Does it matter that the perp is Haitian? Why is the story tagged as "Haitians?"

The tag came from this line in the story, "They say the Haitian man was returning to the city from Haiti." Complain to NY1 if you are offended.

As a traveler I have come back exhausted from a bad flight after a vacation and almost walked thru one of those doors. This gentleman experienced unimaginable horrors - look at his eyes - terrible, terrible pain. You don't have to be a doctor to see he is almost catatonic.

Judge thee not.

Poor guy. Or not. He was coming from Orlando on Saturday. There hasn't been a flight leaving Haiti in days. He's not a refugee.

I wonder if he's legal.

Secretary of Homeland Janet Napolitano need to be removed.
The president is an ass for appointing her and not somebody like Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Let these airport security people do what they need to do.

Napolitano let millions of people, gangs and drugs pass into the country when she was Governor of Arizona.

Its an INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - not everone is going to speak English, So the solution is simple - Keep the door locked!!!

More problems like this lead to problems for the control tower - (planes on the runway - planes turning back), soon there will be a disaster in the air from all the confusion.

No, this is not NYC Council. Next door to your right. Marked 'Immigrants THIS Way' on the door.

We have 1000s of American citizens living in misery because of Katrina and are ignored.

Now we have 100,000s of Haitians about to pour in USA.

The misery of that country is caused by their culture and will taken care of by taxes that should go to provide services for my family, not some two bit pol tweeding their ass off.

Why the hell wasn't this kind of help sent when Katrina hit the US ? and today houses aren't even repaired, and how many countries came to our aid ?
and are we going to rebuild Haiti even without fixing Katrina's path of
distruction ? I guess the US is becoming 2nd class.

People... seriously... Was it not your beloved Reagan who legalized over 4 million "illegals???"

Look into history... around 1986...

Ah... Americans and the short-term memory.

How many illegals is Obama about to legalize?

it is common for relatives, of arriving third world JFK customs passengers, to run into the off limits area.

it is usually a "family" celebration. most arrivals are the elderly in wheelchairs and women with multiple babies. the size and quantity of their box luggage shows that they are in the U.S. to stay.

what a country.
