Paterson's son arrested

From the Daily News:

Gov. David Paterson's 15-year-old son Alex was arrested for possession of a stolen credit card after cops caught him shooting dice near his Upper West Side school, law enforcement sources confirm.

The governor’s son, a student at Beacon High School on W. 61st St., was arrested at about 3 p.m. and taken to the 20th Precinct.

Cops spotted the teen shooting dice on the sidewalk near his school. When officers searched his belongings, they found a credit card in someone else’s name, traced it and determined it had been stolen, the source said.

C'mon, this sounds like a script for an episode of "Law and Order".

Poor kid has to get his "street creds" one way or another. His father is the Governor, the local yocals probably don't even consider him a gangsta.

Life's a Bitch!

Just guessing but this commenter doesnt realize theres no difference between democrats and republicans in NYC and state and never has been. What do you Strom Thurmond or Jesse Helms would get elected here even as Republicans? Rudy's no different and just as corrupt as Doomberg.

Oops excuse me typo.

What do you think Strom Thurmond or Jesse Helms would get elected here in NYC even as Republicans?

If the good Gov. Patterson and wife doesn't have a good handle on his kid with all the resources of NY State to do so, then how is he managing the State? From what we already know - not so much.

Was Alex's detention the result of discrimination or dirty politics?

To note:

The credit card was NOT used by anyone since it had been declared lost.

What a shame pop couldn't whale on him with a belt like the old days. Here is a boy, son of a governor, with unprecedented opportunities the rest of us can only dream of and he chooses to wallow in the gutter like a common thug.

Why did his parents and grandparents work so hard to elevate their family status for guttersnipe, Jr. to drag their name through the mud?

The Patersons have said that their son was playing dice but not for money, and he found the credit card in the subway but did not use it.

Maybe, Crappy, but he held onto something that was not his to have. I have to wonder why? Simple absent-mindedness or something else.

How many of us would have a stranger's credit card or debit card in our possession?
