From the Daily News:
The city Parks Department tried to make peace with snowboarders wrongfully booted from snowy Fort Greene Park last month by personally inviting them to an upcoming snowboarding event in Central Park.
Paupaw said he was willing to let bygones be bygones, "as long as we get to snowboard and no one gets harassed."
In a gesture of goodwill, the Parks Department is sending a special invitation to Paupaw and his buddies to attend the Winter Jam NYC snowboarding event on Feb. 6 in Central Park.
"We are delighted to welcome any and all snowboarders who enjoy our parks to come and celebrate special events we create," said a Parks Department spokeswoman. "We are particularly glad [Paupaw and his friends] will join us."
The festivities will include snowboarding lessons for beginners, a section for stunts and the premiere of a documentary about Olympic hero Shaun White.
Paupaw, who started a group called Hoods to Woods that teaches city kids how to snowboard, said Winter Jam sounds like a rad event.
"I'd like to get them to do an event like that in Brooklyn in Fort Greene Park," he said.

Didn't they have a Winter Jam recently with no snow?
Winter Jams in Central Park? Aren't all the Park Ave. kids skiing in VT then?
Why not hold the event in Juniper Park in QUEENS, where there are real hills and plenty of WILLING kids to teach snowboarding to?
The Parks Department extended the olive branch to the snowboarders?! That is so nice - I love happy endings!
wow i'm impressed!! i'm happy for them, just wished the parks dept. had a heart for the queens falcons, but our queens commisshit doesn't want diversity close to home. well two tumbs up to the snow kings..
