No, it's more realistically split between Ravenswood and Astoria, both of which were part of LIC, which technically hasn't existed since 1898 when it became part of NYC and no longer was its own city. I guess Ravenswood is an undesirable real estate term, although the Daily News seemed to think it up and coming 2 years ago.

Noguchi Museum, That's right, I want to spend 3/4 of a million to visit the Noguchi Museum. Over and over and over again.
Not to mention that glorified dog-run known as Socrates Sculpture Park. {There are canine crap bag dispensers situated on the gates where you enter.]
Thanks. Apparently the true neighborhoods of Dutch Kills and Hunters Point are worse pariahs because they have been subsumed into "LIC" along with part of Sunnyside.
My favorite is when realtors lecture people on the difference between Astoria and Long Island City, thereby correcting people from right to wrong.

AMMI is not near Hallets Cove. These condos are marketing the nearby cultural and restaurant facilities. A dog-run and a diner on Bwy & 21st Street? Conga drumming and a hot dog cart at the nearby Astoria Houses?

I was in the Sohmer Building before they converted it.
The building has settled a lot because a part is built on a swamp. The beams are split and held together by big rusty old brackets.
NYC gets a good earthquake every 100 years and we are overdue for one.
I want my family in a building like that, don't you?
What is this area going to look like when the Vallones put 50,000 people in a big circle around the projects (which are your neighbors on the next block right at Hallets Cove you freakin nitwit buyers!) and leave only one two lane street to get to them?
Blocks away from anything from banks to dry cleaners to supermarkets to .... well just about anything.
Who will be desperate enough to move in?
