Because these trees are down, the Parks Department will probably have to close down the area for replanting.
Trees are planted in two seasons: Spring or Fall. Since they have a replacement clause, they will want to plant the trees while the contractor is liable and that means planting right now.
Replace them with bigger trees who can survive the attempts of these heartless monsters intent on destroying the environment. Every damaged tree should be replace with bigger, stronger trees as this is becoming a huge problem all over Queens...It has got to stop.
