Quinn may endorse Bloomberg

From PolitickerNY:

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, a Democrat, declined to rule out supporting Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who is running on the Republican and Independence Party lines, against Democratic nominee Bill Thompson, the city comptroller.

At a press conference before the first City Council meeting since Tuesday’s election, Quinn was asked by Daily News reporter Frank Lombardi why she couldn’t endorse “the Democratic nominee for mayor. There’s only one."

“I haven’t made a decision about what I’m doing in either of the run-offs or in the mayor’s race,” she said.

When asked about running for Speaker again, Quinn said, “I’m running for reelection and I’m confident I’ll be reelected.”

And from the Daily News:

Quinn (D-Manhattan) won reelection with barely 52% of the vote in her district, while some candidates she backed lost - and the former chief of staff of a political enemy, Brooklyn Democratic boss Vito Lopez, won.

And Lopez nearly knocked off Quinn loyalist Diana Reyna. He intends to contest Reyna's 223-vote lead over his candidate, Maritza Davila.

Defeated incumbents on Quinn's team were lower Manhattan's Alan Gerson; Helen Sears in Jackson Heights, Queens; Kendall Stewart in Flatbush, Brooklyn, and Kenneth Mitchell in North Shore, Staten Island.

All but Mitchell, who wasn't around, voted to extend term limits last October.

Quinn might need to find new friends as she moves to renew her speakership by the New Year.

If the newbies on the City Council are smart, they will 86 this chick. Time to pull a "Gang of Four" move.

She has her nose so far up Bloomberg's ass that she has no choice but to endorse him. Make sure you dump this dike on election day and vote for Bill Thompson as our next mayor.

i have no respect for the idiots who voted her back. say what you will about her (and we all have), but it was really easy to get rid of this pig - and the voters in her district screwed it up.

It matters not that she's gay; what matters is that she's as courrput as they come. Progressive? Ha!

Can't believe that people voted for this Slush Fund Queen. What a short memory these people have.

She's a whore like all the others. Politics is just legalized prostitution. They are all greedy lowlifes while we work our asses off every day. So much for democracy in NYC.

Dromm, Bruno, Van Bramer, Haggerty, Quinn: Bloomberg has made us look like Queers County. A Black Man, a Minister's Son, Bill Thomson has more gumption and should be mayor. Homosexuals are the most selfish, self centered people, the crux of laissez faire ideology. Thomson, like obama, has more gumption, than Bloomberg or Hillary.

The Republicans in her district should have run ONE fiscally, conservative but socially liberal candidate who would also appear on the Rep. line in Nov. if they lost the Dem primary. Too many primary candidates diluted the outcome. 52%? She should have lost!

We probably cannot stop Bloomie; but quinn--maybe. If you bump her and put someone in the City council who will do what a City Council speaker should do, then Bloomie can be thwarted at every turn. This is important. She is his Achille's heel. Weak.

She hasn't made up her mind yet? Does she also have a bridge to sell me?

"Quinn may endorse Bloomberg"

Yup. And the sun may rise in the east. It's already a dumb, er, done deal. She's just getting her spinmeisters to find a way to delicately trash Thompson.

Of course she'll soon be on his dick in a flash...endorsing him gleefully!

And why not? Her nose has been up his behind for years.

That'll just make their relationship a lot more cozy.

Besides...Chrissy's had far worse things in her mouth than the words, "My vote's for Bloomberg".

She'll manage to smile and endure in return for her promised payment.

All in a whore's day's work!

Quinn's personal lifestyle may be progressive, but her leadership is old Tammany-style.
