Bad news for Bloomberg?

GOPers may vote Bloomy off the Island
by David Seifman, NY Post

IF there's one place where Mayor Bloomberg shouldn't have to worry about winning votes it's Staten Island, where more than seven out of 10 people who went to the polls in both 2001 and 2005 pulled the lever for Bloomberg.

But some Republican leaders say the mayor had better be concerned because there's a surprising backlash brewing among his middle-class base.

"People feel they're getting nickel-and-dimed to death," said one veteran Republican official. "They're upset about higher property taxes, higher water bills, traffic tickets. They might just stay home [on Election Day]."

The mayor's abandonment of the Republican Party during his flirtation with a presidential run didn't go unnoticed.

Over the summer, the official said, campaign workers rounding up signatures on Bloomberg's GOP petitions ran into resistance.

"People would sign for other politicians, but not Bloomberg," the official recalled.

Although it represents less than 10 percent of the vote citywide, Staten Island proved critical to Bloomberg in 2001, when he narrowly lost Manhattan, Brooklyn and The Bronx to Democrat Mark Green and became mayor thanks to large margins in Queens and Staten Island.

Backlash?

You bet!

The backlash is what the Commissar applies to his beloved Middle Class.

The Republican Party made a deal with the devil for a few cheesy bucks.

They then discovered that the Commissar is a very heavy albatross, who is about to make himself and the Republican Party vanish altogether.

Only fools elect someone who clearly says he hates those fools and laughs at them.

Dump the Commissar!

The pollsters on his campaign are aware of these numbers. Hence, the all-out push for photo ops with that Staten Island Little League team several weeks ago, culminating in his presenting them with keys to the City. Nice cheap way to try to buy a few votes that might swing things back to him, aka Mr. Dollar-A-Year.

Last time around I voted for the idiot (forgive me please). This time?
hahahahahahaha
snort

The other day his campaign called, and NOT a robocall - I told them that there was NO way in hell I was voting for him

If Mayor wannabee emperor-horny-3rd term-seeker Bum-turd keeps on pissing all over the shoes of NY's middle class like he's been for the past eight years now...HE'S TOAST!

You keep on spending your money Mike. At least we're glad it's not ours.

You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time.

BUT YOU CAN'T FOOL ALL OF THE VOTERS ALL OF THE TIME!

So it'll be bye, bye Bloomberg come November! AMEN!

We've got your number and those strained TV ads your running won't persuade us financially downtrodden voters to change our minds about you being "a friend" (ha, ha) of the middle class.

FYI:
Most third term seekers...EVEN the ever popular Fiorello La Guardia... didn't make the cut!

Mayor LaGuardia served three terms. He was elected in 1933, and was reelected in 1937 and 1941. He chose not to run for a fourth term.

My bad about La Guardia "Gary".

I misread some info...it happens occasionally.

Thanks for your correction since "the little flower" is one of my favorites.

I love you sharp on your toes posters even when you point out the egg on my face.

That's what makes this a truly great and well read blog.

The real stuff gets out there (fully edited)!

Congratulations to the people of Staten Island for letting the emperor know that they will NOT vote for him. Queens has so many voters, but they will stupidly vote this asshole in again and again. You get the government you deserve. At least Staten Island has some sense. Kudos to them.
