Katz couldn't care less about Elmhurst homeless shelter

From Housing Works:

Ben Branham, a spokesperson for Katz’s campaign for City Comptroller, said Katz didn’t endorse the community outrage but that “it’s the job of a council person to represent anyone in the district.” He added, “It’s a situation where people got angry, and it was frustrating to see such opposition emerge.”

It was frustrating to see people defending their families, property values and quality of life? If Katz wasn't such a tweeder, she would understand that this is why good neighborhoods stay that way. Is this a case where the politician's spokesperson agrees with whomever they are talking with at the moment? And Vicky Morales wonders why she got booed at the rally.

The Queens Alliance is a shady organization with no track record in managing this type of facility. They say they are going to provide "drug rehabilitation referral services" but have made it clear that drug treatment is not mandatory for their clients, and have also emphatically stated that drugs and alcohol are not permitted inside the facility. So that means 58th Ave will have winos and junkies roaming the streets selling and doing drugs and God knows what else. Opposition to this facility by the councilwoman should be a no-brainer. The Times Newsweekly seems to understand this. But she instead went along with the media as they twisted it into an "Elmhurst is anti-AIDS" thing, which it never was.

Please send this loser named Melinda Katz to the unemployment line on September 15th. Other than Bloomberg and Quinn, there is no one at City Hall more deserving of being run out of town on a rail.

Melinda Katz never cared about Elmhurst. They gerrymandered that district to the point where it's no man's land.

How true, how true.

What is it about elected officials that they have the arrogance to expect that the taxpayers who foot ALL the bills must keep opposing opinion to themselves or, better still, have no opposing opinions at all?

This is a serious local, state and federal matter.

Let's give her lazy, arrogant ass the boot. Along with the Commissar and anyone who voted for a third term and/or the land grab of Willets Point.

Let them all open a fast food joint serving bergers (what should we call them?), trans-fats, salami hung in a window, with a menu showing no calories, and to cap it all off, all employees and customers MUST smoke.

After Melinda loses the election, she will get a job at Boro Hall with the other tweeders. No one will hire her as an attorney, since she only practiced for a couple of years before she started in tweeding.

Ms. Katz only cares about her career in politics and how she can advance herself and line her pockets with developer cash. Citizens of Elmhurst, please remember her on Election Day. Send a message that we don't care about her, just like she doesn't care about us.

Bitchen on this blog will get you nowhere.

You need to write letters about how ineffective she is and ask her good questions while the cameras are rolling...

...and of course share this with us!

She had a press conference today at City Hall with Teamsters. Was scheduled to end at 2:00 p.m. and didn't end till 2:45. We had one scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and had to wait on the street in 90 degrees with many disabled people. She cared so much about prople that she stayed another 20 minutes monopilizing the press.
