Exoskeleton extravaganza!

The cicadas are back...
and they're shedding.

The top one was taken in Flushing and the bottom one in Little Neck.

Actually it is educational. I thought cicadas had been extirpated in Flushing. The most famous area for the so-called locusts is an part of Staten Island that hasn't yet been cemented over.

No wonder for a few years I never heard or seen any. As I type this right now(9:28 am) I can here them doing what they do...

These things are all over my backyard...and have been for years.

I thought they were photos of the Commissar demonstrating his love of trees and open spaces.

Now I realize that the Commissar only wishes he were that good looking.
