Blumturd would go nuts seeing all that empty underutilized land, and the democratic machine would go along with their media mouthpieces, and appointed community board hacks to insist that it be developed ..... then spend a fortune putting in roof top gardens.

I remember one in the Bronx in the 1950's ... near my father's home on Virgil Place. Fresh food, excercise and a sense of satisfaction. Definitely missing in today's world of hired mow-and-blow yard caretakers.

Our previous Mayor Rudy shut down community gardens all around Manhattan!

"Underutilized" land his developer friends had an eye on!

Yup, to Rudy these spaces were Public Enemy #1.

These gardens gave apartment dwellers a chance to work the land and grow their own food.

Considering the city's dirty water, we can't even catch our own fish without risking our health.

We are at the total mercy of groceries and supermarkets.
