Queens woman hits the jackpot

From the Daily News:

Lottery officials and a crew of convenience store workers are keeping their eyes peeled for the person holding a Mega Millions ticket worth $133 million.

"No one has come to make a claim yet," said Patel Dilip, 35, who works at the Shiz Convenience Store on Hillside Ave. "As far as I know it was a woman and she is really lucky."

There was only one ticket that matched all six numbers in Tuesday's drawing, officials said. The winning numbers were 25, 27, 35, 38, 39 and the Mega ball was 28. Friday's jackpot reverts to a mere $12 million.

Give me a half a million and I'd be happy. I'm not greedy.

I wouldn't even know what to do with that kind of money.

I would - with that kind of cash - you could literly change the world - or at least your own corner of it.

I think I would help my family and friends first and then invest some and then buy some cool toys for myself. A BMW perhaps, a home in the Hamtpons, some great vacations........it's fun to dream.

I would buy endangered historic and natural sites in Queens and set a fund up for their preservation.

I'd move out of New York and head to Tampa and destroy the old farts at golf!

I would buy out Wade's neighbors on either side and build fedderbox crap and excluisively rent to hipsters and individuals who are less than forthcoming regarding their immigration status.

Now that's funny!

A couple of mil, I would do what Italian girl said she'd do. help some people, get some cool toys. Kick back.

125M - that's classic f u $$$, so I would carefully invest and say f u to everyone for the rest of my life. I would endow a libertairan-conservative "think-tank" and show the world how hypocritical liberals are.

Eg. - some bum comes up to me and ask for $$$. answer - no - but I'll give you job. Show up tomorrow morning, clean and sober, and you're hired. You're gonna clean the streets, and pick up sh&t, but you'll get paid well, I'll feed you and even send you to a Dr. I record the whole thing and when he doesn't show up, or spends his first paycheck on drugs, show the world why handouts and social programs don't work.

Didn't research show that big bucks winners in lotteries, after one year of "high-living", went back to doing what they had done before the struck it rich?

I would figure out exactly how much that would yield after taxes and expenses annuitized over the rest of my expected life-span, and remember that in 20 years or so the dollar might be worth half of what it is today. After that, I would adjust my life style to match that of a salaried person making the same.

I have actually known people who won several million dollars and lost all of it quickly. If you were broke before, you will be broke after. If you had something before, you will have something after.

The reality is that money is like losing weight--we all have a natural "financial setpoint" that comes from skill, temperment and knowledge and it can be as hard for a pauper to keep sudden wealth as it is for a dieter to keep the weight off.

Ha ha ha!

I'd move to an exclusive, gated community. I wouldn't help out anyone, or give any money to charity, because it's all about me. I'd also quietly disappear, and never post again on this blog.

You'd all better pray that the woman who won was my wife!

The sad thing is that the winner is probably the type of person who will spend the entire jackpot on scratch-offs.

I really hope you didn't mean any of that. That's so selfish.

Why is this called "Queens woman hits the jackpot" if no one knows who the winner is?? Am I missing something?
