From the NY Post:
Despite a widely touted citywide crackdown on parking placards -- both real and counterfeit -- New Yorkers can apparently still easily flout the law by parking with bogus permits.
Transportation Alternatives, a group that promotes bike-riding and mass transit, tested Mayor Bloomberg's anti-placard movement by parking a car illegally in Manhattan last week with a fake permit bearing the name of a bogus agency, "Citizen Protection Administration."
After six hours, the green Mazda Miata didn't get any summonses.

Traffic agents have no training or expertise on this matter. If a cop finds this,(unless he is a uselees prick)your car is towed/impounded and you're a collar when you arrive at the pound for your car.
Well, I don't doubt the first comment; so maybe the white hat traffic agents should be briefed on this, and looking for it, no?
The folks at Transportation Alternatives should be arrested for committing a crime.
TA is feeling the heat from Crappy. They were told the locals in Queens just roll over and play dead. Now they want to show they can stand up to tha 'Turd.
Now get off your biks, start pushing busses, resist another million people, and get a few dozen miles in subways built.
A tall order?
You are smart kids.
And Crappy is going nowhere.
Regular civilian cars are frequently parked in front of the LIC post office on 21st Street, with "official police business" placards placed in the windshield. At metered spots, and the meters coincidentally read "FAIL" - out of order.
These metered spots should be for PO customers... lord knows it's hard enough finding parking around there!
If creating a fake federal placard doesn't work, try creating a fictional country. Those diplomats can park anywhere with impunity.

Can a counterfeit parking placard be copyrighted?
I ask because I would like to copy, enlarge and print that placard for my dashboard.
Then, when necessary, I can modify it to stay ahead of the tow trucks.
May I?
