From the Times Ledger:
A collaboration between Con Edison and the Long Island Power Authority to discuss the feasibility of constructing a wind farm off the coast of the Rockaways may soon have a large infusion of cash blowing its way, thanks to U.S. Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-Bayside).
Ackerman said $500,000 he requested for the study was included in energy legislation expected to be voted on this week in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The congressman said the money was earmarked to study environmental issues, transmission infrastructure and whether a wind farm would be realistic for the area.

We need to move it up to Albany and capture some of the hot air generated up there.
Unfortunately, some of the haymakers those "senators" are throwing at women might break the blades, especially if they have drinking glasses in their hands when they throw the punch.
Why dont we put the bike nuts on stationary bikes?
If they like to peddle, we can have them as a source of energy.

Why don't we find a way to harness the energy from fingers typing on a keyboard? If people like to type silly comments, we can have them as a source of energy.
There are wind farms already in existence throughout NYC:
City Hall; the five borough halls; all of the community boards; various political clubs.
Just plug 'em into the grid!
Might as well let the likes of a Marilyn Bitterman earn her $80,000+ annual salary.
