Lotsa fines, little payment

Labeled in the real estate blog Brownstoner "the queen of illegal mechanical demolition," Grasso got 144 permits from the Buildings Department between April 2008 and March 2009.

In that time, records show, her workers committed 92 documented violations, 53 of them deemed hazardous.

Total fines just for that period: $440,500. Total amount she's paid in fines since 2000: $750, records show.

Buildings Commissioner Robert LiMandri is well aware of Grasso's record, but claims his department can't withhold permits based on past misdeeds.

"That would require a change to the Building Code or some state or city law," he said.

So. Has LiMandri proposed such a change? If not, since we know that he knows it is necessary, what is stopping him?

Kickbacks.

Whatever happened to the fines that the bovine bitch Shulman should be paying for her illegal lobbying activities?

Bad, wicked people with a license to kill. Don't they need vehicles for their businesses? Tow them. Don't they have existing properties and land. Put liens on. Tax refunds coming? Take them.

Arrest people, jail people. Lives are at stake. I was nearly killed. Several people have had their homes demolished. My downstairs neighbors braced their own ceiling with lumber to keep it from being driven in on them.

This is a blind-eye policy in force to make it easy to drive out the elderly, the poor, the working class.

It's only a matter of time before some of these developers are shot.
