Flushing Commons refuses to die

From the Queens Tribune. Note how Johnny states matter-of-factly that no one in the community is clamoring for development at this site anyway. Which is like most projects dumped on Queens (and the rest of the City for that matter). And despite never getting this much smaller project off the ground, TDC was a finalist for the Willets Point redevelopment!

You don't need this in Downtown Flushing, you don't need this in Downtown Flushing, YOU DON'T NEED THIS IN DOWNTOWN FLUSHING! Read my lips, THE AREA IS ALREADY CONGESTED PAST THE BREAKING POINT!!!!

It MUST happen. Johnny needs more campaign $$$ for his war chest. Flushing is already a great example of stuffing 10 pounds of potatos in a 5 pound sack!!!

BEWARE WELLINGTON CHEN !

You want to watch TDC's best boy very carefully.

Donald Manes first put him on CB#7 and he's sat discreetly in the back row of power ever since.

Most are aware of the more obvious villains like Tommy Huang because they're always in the spotlight.

But the extremely adept Chen is one of those quiet little stage managers who controls the whole production from the wings.

Thus he's able to always fly low beneath the radar and then drops his bombs squarely on target.

Chuck Appelian is having trouble contacting TDC? That's odd. TDC is Community Board #7's landlord. Where's Wellington?

More like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb sack!

Chuck is a double agent!

No doubt he's getting his ($$$$$)!

Just grab yourself a giant pooper-scooper...then bag and dump downtown F-Liu-xhing!

Who care WTF happens there anymore!

"Forget it Jake...it's Chinatown"!

You can always stuff a few thousand more low class Fujienese and Taiwanese into downtown
"Frushing" and they'd still think it was paradise!

Chinatown? More like WELLINGtown. Next stop Wellington Pointe.

At least it's come up in the world.

It used to be known as Huang Kong!

Hey...forget College Point...why not put that garbage transfer station smack in the middle of Main Street?

We've already got a great head start here...and it isn't even sweltering August yet...phew!

Flushing...a destination of little choice....a point of departure!

Even C.M. John Liu wants out of his own F-Liu-xhing and onto higher office far from its stench.

H-m-m-m...when he's gone it will stink a little less.

You know...he's part of that powerful odor of political corruption.

Now if Peter Koo can only dump Toby...we'd finally be rid of that stinking Stavisky dynasty!

This is preposterous. Downtown Flushing DO NOT need this! It is already congested in that area with cars, buses and people. For years, the Caldor site has been vacant. Work on that!

No decent national retailer wants part of a stinking 2nd rate Chinatown like Floo Shing!.

Caldor's site will stay vacant for at least 5 more years!

Donald Manes started the ruination of this town 25 years ago.

What was Myra Baird Herce's contribution? Or CB#7's?

This project should go away and die forever. My car needs a spot in this lot, period.

Where in Flushing is this project going to be located?
