Bloomberg vs. the Crowley dynasty!

From City Hall:

According to those involved in the negotiations, Bloomberg agreed to back Ulrich in his bid for re-election, while Ognibene, who was the Conservative candidate in 2005 and was threatening to run against Bloomberg for the GOP line this year, agreed to step aside.

In return, Bloomberg promised to support Ognibene in a run for his old Council seat against Democratic Council Member Elizabeth Crowley, who defeated a Republican incumbent, Anthony Como, last year in their rematch for what had been Dennis Gallagher’s seat. This could come as a personal and political snub to Crowley’s cousin, Queens Democratic chair Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-Queens/Bronx), who was seen as supportive of the mayor’s move to extend term limits and seek re-election.

Ognibene, who will announce his candidacy soon, said in an interview that he fully expects Bloomberg to support him.

This is Awesome!!!! Go Go Bloomy. Obienge would never had a chance anyway, so for him it's a win. Ulruich ???? who cares. I love how the Repub's hate Bloomy, yet endorse Bloomy and look for his endorsment. This is gonna be a great year.
Now Ulriuch will have to pay back Bloomy later if he wins.
This is a great time to be and independent.
What's the JV civic gonna do. They hate Bloomy. Who do they endorse?

They've never endorsed anyone.

I agree. "Obienge would never had a chance anyway" especially since there's no one in this race named Obienge.

Taxpayer missed the boat already. The time to start campaigning was yesterday. Crowley will win again because so far no one has vowed to run against her. If no one runs against her, she wins. You can complain all you want about her, but in the end, nobody will do anything to prevent her victory. We deserve what we get and we're going to get her.

Yeah Taxpayer - What are you waiting for? Whip some Crowley ass already. All you gotta do is mention that new high school over and over again. That'll really piss people off around there.

lol!!!!!!
He has my vote for City Council. But lets agree, he didn't have a chance the last time he ran for major, and he wouldn't now.
I like the fact that he admitted that he has at times had one too many gin and tonic's. Me too. That made me laugh.

taxpayer/Nuziato, it is too late for him.

Old-a-bene is gginoing to run on the republican side.

Ognibene should have been a judge.

No. He COULD have been a judge, if he had the balls to run, instead of expecting a cross-endorsement.

Bloombucks is a Democrat who just doesn't want to compete in a Primary with other Dems so, just like in 2001 he rents the Repubs. Ulrich, a subscriber to the Catholic version of the evangelical right wing will reinvent himself as an I'm not really a radically rightwinger I'm just a good old Dem in disguise. I'll vote for the Dems honest enough to say they are what they are not the chameleons.

Bloomberg backing Ognibene against Crowley, hmm Bloomass knows here in Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale we can't stand her, especially since she's a complete moron on all topics. Well listen up asshole of a mayor this will not get my vote to support you and everyone is sick of you and overturning term limits, so wake up and leave already. TONY AVELLA FOR MAYOR BECAUSE HE CARES ABOUT THE MIDDLE CLASS AND YOUR COMMUNITY :)...

Ognibene won't go away, why can't he understand that we are just not into him.

Ognibene will provide stability until Nunziato is more seasoned candidate.

Bloomberg will lose his race if anyone with name recogination steps up. Hear that Tony Wiener?
