MYFOXNY.COM - New York City insists that parking tickets help keep the streets safe and clean. Tickets are also supposed to keep traffic moving But wait until you see what Fox 5's John Deutzman found in one neighborhood.
The story of a nice f*ck up by the City. And if that's not enough for you, he has a second report about a stolen car that was tracked down by the owner.

Some examples of this nonsense. I saw a clearly stolen car abandoned in the driveway of the old municipal parking lot in Astoria where HANAC has constructed its new senior center. Although the car was bright red, 100 feet from the 114th precinct and in clear view of the highway. It sat untowed and unticketed until local thieves stripped it.
Another time a stolen car was abandoned in front of my house for several weeks collecting ticket after ticket. Although it was a company vehicle with a business name painted on it, had license plates and a copy of the registration in the window no one checked to see if it was stolen.
I first called the business and when no one answered, I made out the registration address that belonged to a building not 1/2 mile away.
I walked over, knocked on the door, asked if anyone was missing a car and proceeded to walk the owners back to their stolen vehicle.
