Miss Heather finds major-league shitbox in LIC

Well done, Heather. This is truly unbelievable and is testament to all that LIC has become in our lifetimes. The last time I saw this big steaming pile, it was sans gray rooftop box. Back then, I didn't think it could get any worse. I stand corrected.

This is the most effort I've ever seen put into a Friedrich box.

Reminds me of Disney's Tower of Terror!

Nah...that's a cesspool on the roof.

The builder is just too cheap to pay for a hook up to NYC's sewer system!

Funny how Miss Heather finds stuff in plain sight that our friends at Pratt or MAS feign don't exist or at best unworthy of attention.

Those grey rooftop boxes are astonishingly hideous. I can't believe they are allowed anywhere. There are two on Steinway between Broadway and 34th, although one was finally painted and adorned with advertising banners.

I believe those boxes are the new cellular and WiFi communications arrays.
Thanks to the city busting the zoning the antennas and equipment is now built all in 1 box. They dump right on a roof, hookup to an electric meter then run a fibre optic down to the street.
They are up and running before people can challange the installation.

You have to use special paint or print to cover them.

The preservation community firmly believes that if its not a problem in Brooklyn Heights, its not a real problem worthy of attention by the right people.

Community boards were once called community planning boards.

The community affairs unit used to be called the community assistance unit.

Since there was no longer any planning or assistance being offered to our communities, they changed their names.

You might very well ask...
why do they exist?

To drain tax money and provide
high paying patronage jobs
to faithful clubhouse servants!

i.e. CB#7's Marilyn Bitterman
makes $80,000 a year.

Anybody want to guess what
Jennifer Manley gets?

H-m-m-m...
or Mayor Mike's bimbo Natzli Parvisi...the CAU commissioner?
