Building facade collapses in Harlem

HARLEM (WABC) -- The façade of a building under construction has collapsed in Harlem.

It happened around 3:15 p.m. on West 123rd Street.

Customers in a pizzeria next door were trapped for a short time after the collapse.

Workers were pouring concrete at a construction site when the wall collapsed into the pizzeria next door.

There were people inside the pizzeria briefly trapped inside. They were treated at the scene.

Four injuries were reported, but none were life-threatening.

Police closed Frederick Douglass Boulevard between West 125 and West 122nd Street.

This has already happened to me except it was 100 lb pieces of masonery falling from my ceiling while I was out for the day. The Buildings Department issued all the necessary permits even though they knew people were still living in the building in question.

Later on, records were falsified to hide the extent of damage. Our friend the girl-cutter had some involvement. Please note that under today's political regime your life is worth less than nothing. Vote for Bloomberg for a Third Term and Montserrate likewise.

These tragedies befall all such neighborhoods slated for (over)development. I used to live on the Lower East Side of Manhattan well ahead of the gentrification that forced a lot of lower & middle income residents permanently out of the area. "Get 'em out at whatever the cost!", appears to be their slogan. Long gone is human sanctity.

Now living in a mid-Atlantic state,

Not a Collpes!

The side of the building Kocked in by rushed Building construction next door.
Workers built 10 foot dam around the building then backfilled over 40 tons of concrete. The weight pushed the wall, bricks and wet cement into into the pizza parlor on top of people.
How can building construct such a large Rube Goldberg contraption without inspectors catching it ?

Dear Joe, from the lady nearly buried under the 100 lbs of concrete, how they fail to notice is inspectors are provided with blindfolds fashioned from $100.00 bills.

I have already been to my state assemblyman, Vallone, internal affairs of the Buildings Department, and the Queens DA's office over corruption in my building.

I am now working through DHCR and probably the State Attorney General's office too. Please note that my corrupt developer has also illegally seized property not belonging to him in one instance, and in another, has building destroyed the roof of an adjacent building and also covered the windows of same building so that the tenants were forced to move and the building owner who was an honest man lost a needed source of income.

This man gave $8000.00 to Monserrate. Please see Board of Elections reports, easily googled. This is a cabal of the corrupt, worse than in the days of Tweed and Jimmy Walker.
