Stuck truck means we're all f*cked

Here's fair warning that we may get burned to a crisp through no fault of the FDNY. Engine Company 289 out of Corona was on its way to a call last Monday afternoon when their truck got stuck in one of the huge craters the City claims doesn't exist on Willets Point Blvd and 38th Avenue.

Iron Triangle Tracker has more.

If the "eminent domain for private gain" hasn't gotten your goat yet, then maybe the fact that the City's intentional neglect at Willets Point is putting the rest of our lives in danger will.

Maybe the city will take notice once someone gets hurt or killed hitting one of those craters.

In an honest government that was not so profoundly corrupt, your thought would have a chance.

However, Commissar Death and Taxes didn't get that title for nothing; he earned it the hard way - through his depraved indifference to human life, and by swiping private property and food from the mouths of little children.

Commissar Death and Taxes MUST be dumped!

Having traversed those mean streets on many an occasion, I can honestly say that I am not surprised. And neither is my rear axle, which shattered as I was shopping for a new mirror a few months back...Maybe Bloomberg will install some Bike Lanes, forcing the D.O.T. to repair the roads so they can paint the bike lanes...

Dont believe it because it is not true..

No FDNY vehicles got "stuck" in Willets Point.

You nitwits. The reason that truck isn't moving is because this is a PHOTO!!!! Of COURSE it's not going to move.

It was reported by eyewitnesses that it did get stuck. Regardless, the condition of that street shows that the City needs to do a lot of repairing here.

Just take your sedan for a ride into Willets Point - you won't go 30' inside without stopping or your a fool. Tall SUV are no match for the holes in the street, but large commercial trucks and fire vehicules - I am shocked!

It helps when your tires are not only stuck in a hole but are spinning on ice because the City doesn't plow or salt, either.

You're all missing
an important point here.

First the city refuses to fix these huge craters citing, I believe, that they're "problems with the infra-stucture".

Next to follow will be that the city will refuse to dispatch
any FDNY trucks to this area due to the proliferation of "potholes" endangering the vehicles!

An upcoming double cluster f--k
for sure!

Thank you Mayor Doomberg!

DOZENS of these craters like in the photo in front of most the Willets Point shops.

The average is 3 feet deep with a mud bottom !!!

No match for a firetruck.
A giant back hoe with 4 foot tires working at shea drove through, sunk and couldnt get out. The driver had to arm paddle chest deep in black sludge ice to get out

How can the crooked Mayor and Queens Brass say these holes dont exsist on Earth or the point ?

I visited that area a few times during the 2008 holiday season for some photography and there was a man in the middle of one of the main intersections, there every day, whose job appeared to be to help direct traffic around the worst hazards. I showed the photos to a friend in rural Alabama and he said even the poorest southern towns don't have roads that bad. New York's treatment of Willets Point has been atrocious and criminal.

Many people would never have noticed how bad that area is, with Shea Stadium's parking lot providing a buffer between the stadium and the misery. Now that the parking lot holds Citi Field and the horrible festering sore is immediately next door, NYC is using eminent domain as a desperate move to mitigate their embarrassment over allowing that nightmare to occur.
