Those cozy with City Council Speaker Christine Quinn (D-Manhattan) seem to have an easier time getting legislation passed than her foes, documents obtained by the Daily News reveal.City Councilmen Tony Avella (D-Queens) and Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn), Quinn's most outspoken critics, count a total of four bills since 2002, a review of records show.
Meanwhile, the speaker had 35 bills inked into law during that period, and Councilman David Weprin (D-Queens), her closest ally in the Council, had 78 passed.
"The speaker is very vindictive, and when you oppose the speaker, she doesn't let bills go through," Avella and some other Council members charged.

This is outragious - the peoples buisness needs to be advanced, bills sumitted for review are just that - politics halts progress in the name of individual or party power.
This is what happens to certain people when they are fat AND ugly. They get very frustrated and tired from all the rejection so they lash out against anyone that's in their way.

Let us pray we get a new US Attorney that has some guts and wants to take on the corruption of the NYC Council.

You are correct and perhaps it is long past the time for the US Attorney to investigate the rampant corruption in NY City government.
