Water's Edge is a tax deadbeat

EATERY SKIPS OUT ON BILL
By ANGELA MONTEFINISE, NY Post

The city continues to do business with a swanky waterfront restaurant that keeps stiffing it on rent.

Water's Edge Restaurant, located on a prime piece of city property in Long Island City, Queens, cheated the city out of at least $210,000 in back rent and unpaid sewer and water charges, city officials said.

Quinn Restaurant Corp., which has operated the catering hall and eatery since 1981, allegedly violated its lease by underreporting its annual gross income, a figure that plays a factor in its rent.

While these guys used to take over a public pier no one did anything when the community protested cause the developers and polticians used to have lunch here.

Now I guess some developer wants the space so now its an issue.

Don't worry folks. The restaurant has new owners and they are very good business people who will surely pay the back taxes.
