Another blight on this neighborhood is the illegal aliens we see everyday at 74 Street and Eliot Avenue being employed by the construction company located there.
God that's gross. Amazing how lazy these elected officials are. If I was the councilperson, I would have interns canvas the district and report problems to the appropriate agency and the community board.
Went to a lecture the other day on development in NYC.
Talked about immigrants.
Talke about midwestern kids.
Nothing about the middle class, nothing at efforts to encourage owner occupied housing, nothing about families.
So what if the area is going downhill?
NYC is systamatically being hollowed out (that is except for the areas that HDC and MAS is interested in - they are protected on the OTHER side of the red line!)
That fine is a slap on the wrist. Encourage higher fines (if you are serious)!!
Make the climate of speculative ownership unprofitable!
