The Willets Point Industry and Realty Association (WPIRA) the group of business owners who control more than 53% of the privately held land in Willets Point that the Bloomberg administration wants to seize, yesterday announced plans for a demonstration outside the Mets game on Monday to make the public aware of the City's reckless plan to destroy thousands of jobs for working men and women by stealing their private property to help a politically-connected developer.
As part of the demonstration, trucks will carry banners informing Mets fans of the city's attempt to use eminent domain to take private property and turn it over to a politically-connected developer, destroying jobs in the process. Beginning at 3:30 p.m., about the time the Mets' afternoon game against the Pittsburgh Pirates is finishing, dozens of trucks from Willets Points businesses will begin to circle the stadium.

WPIRA claims they are not full of propaganda? Let's see:
"the City's reckless plan"
What is reckless about it? It seems very well-planned actually;
"to destroy thousands of jobs for working men and women"
The plan calls for business relocation assistance and worker re-training, and the new development will create thousands of new jobs, among other benefits;
"by stealing their private property"
Sorry, but the city is buying the property, and if eminent domain is used, it is not stealing. The property owner gets market value for the property;
"to help a politically-connected developer."
Sure, the city is not doing this to clean up a disgusting area and provide for great new homes, retail, parks, hospital and school in one of the most significant areas in all of Queens. No, the city is doing this just to help a politically-connected developer. Ridiculous.
NOW THAT'S THE SPIRIT!
THE REVOLUTION BEGINS!
Too bad our lazy ass "preservationists" aren't willing to put themselves on the line....only beg for table scrap grant money from Beep Marshal and her likes.
All the best WPIRA.
Kick our monarch mayor's little butt f----d toukas!
Trying to steal property and then doling it out to your pals is anti American!
I see that "Parkside" has fired a weak shot in their first comment on QC this morning.
Up early Evan after a "hard" night?
Wipe that slime (whatever it is) off your chin. You look stupid.
"the City's reckless plan"
What is reckless about it? It seems very well-planned actually;
How is it well-planned? They are asking the city council to approve something without knowing what they are going to put there yet. They are also preparing to clear out, remediate and rebuild a new mini-city when we are in the throes of a major budget crisis? Actually, this sounds like piss-poor planning.
"to destroy thousands of jobs for working men and women"
The plan calls for business relocation assistance and worker re-training, and the new development will create thousands of new jobs, among other benefits;
Perhaps you missed it - Robert Lieber himself said not all the businesses are going to survive. Is that EDC propaganda?
"by stealing their private property"
Sorry, but the city is buying the property, and if eminent domain is used, it is not stealing. The property owner gets market value for the property;
Actually, if someone does not want to sell and they are forced to, that's stealing. If I took your car and threw the book value for it at you, I would be thrown in jail.
"to help a politically-connected developer."
Sure, the city is not doing this to clean up a disgusting area and provide for great new homes, retail, parks, hospital and school in one of the most significant areas in all of Queens. No, the city is doing this just to help a politically-connected developer. Ridiculous.
What's ridiculous about it? Why didn't the city install sewers and maintain the area for decades, including BEFORE it got contaminated?
Council Member Hiram Monserrate owes his political future to the Queens Dems and The Parkside Group. Be careful of his "support".
They are also preparing to clear out, remediate and rebuild a new mini-city when we are in the throes of a major budget crisis?
The DEVELOPER is expected to pay for the remediation. these are long term plans to drastically improve a clearly blighted area and short term economic and budgetary malaise should not be a concern
your constant carping on conspiracy theory sounds a little alarmist.. get a grip
Yes, let's trust a developer to remediate a contaminated area where people are going to live. Look what a great job they're doing in LIC!
How do we even know a developer will come forward in this economy to do this, especially when many major projects are being scaled down?
"these are long term plans to drastically improve a clearly blighted area and short term economic and budgetary malaise should not be a concern"
Great! Why are they putting the sewers in so the area can lift itself? Do you think that you'd still have the icky chop shops you despise so much if the land value improved and actual businesses moved in there? LOL you folks are funny how hard you try to justify the stealing of private property for developers.
slum clearance = ethnic cleansing
When Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Chavez, Mugabe took land from the private owners (killing most of them, if not all), they, too were following a "plan".
They, too, practiced "relocation". Not all those who were "relocated" prospered.
And, then, like now, there were many vultures who fed from the carcasses of the previous owners.
And, then, like now, the "Masters" who promoted the taking and relocating were really most interested in creating untold wealth for themselves only. Can anyone today remember the theft of art and valuables for private pleasure?
Never forget the eminent domain of gold teeth, hair, jewelry, clothing and possessions from those who were "relocated" and needed those items no longer.
Some tools for the relocation were bullets, the garrote, meat hooks, gas chambers, ovens, starvation, and secret police.
Naturally, this was never illegal. It was never stealing. It was all perfectly legal and cheered on by many in the population who were relieved by the reduction of parasites among them.
The "people" were the beneficiaries. But, they were often too stupid and uncultured to appreciate the property taken. So, acting as their representatives, the cultivated cheerleaders were given all the taken property. They were far more knowledgeable in the proper use of the taken property.
So, today, the successor of these great "masters" stands before us, ready to "teach" the ignorant lowlifes whose job is to pay taxes and shut up. The lesson the Commissar wants us to go away (far away) with is: Commissar Death and Taxes has the power, the ignoramuses do not, so, beware. More power is ready to be exercised.
eminent domain is NOT Stealing .. drop the weak characterization.
if you'd read the environmental analysis before spouting off on your conspiracy theory you'd know that the place is in a 100 year flood plain and needs to be razed and elevated in order to properly install plumbing and drainage..
further, why should the current residents and landowners benefit from such a massive capital improvement when the purchased and built their businesses on land filled swamp marsh? to demand that the city come in and spend 200-300 million to install sewers and drainage so THEY can presumably sell at a significantly higher price is ridiculous.
the land has been underutilized and blighted for in excess of 50 years. Its time to wipe away the muck and build something that improves the lifestyle of all the residents of Queens
good God.. to compare paying someone fair market for their land to marching someone into a death cauldron is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard.
"Good grief Charlie Brown...
they're asking us to buy a pig in a poke with no plans for Willets Point yet put on paper".
"That's what's called giving them carte blanche Lucy".
"Linus thinks we're about to be more than just French kissed by that Bloomberg bunch"!
"Its time to wipe away the muck and build something that improves the lifestyle of all the residents of Queens."
Anon:
If you can call bringing more congestion to an already congested area an "improvement". How the hell is mass transit supposed to handle all these extra people? You're also missing the point the "blighted" area. It's blighted because of the city's neglect. Any area without the proper infrastructure over a period of time would end up looking like that as well. Just imagine your street without sewers. Now imagine it without sewers for 30 years. Wouldn't you be pissed?
I really hope Bloomie loses this battle also. He is a failure in every sense. I'm actually starting to miss Giuliani.
Of course not all business will survive. Even if they all stayed where they are they wouldn't all survive. We shouldn't improve the area unless we guarantee that all the businesses currently there will "survive"? Pretty weak Crapper.
Now you have your answer to your silly "just install the roads and sewers to the area now" argument, which is nothing but a red herring.
Taxpayer, keep insulting the actual victims of Hitler and Stalin by comparing their plight to the city paying market value and providing business relocation and training services to business in a disgusting, blighted area that most everyone in Queens wants to see cleaned up and improved. I'm sure my neighbor who is a holocaust survivor will appreciate that. Do you wonder why everyone laughs at your comments.
Signed,
A Bigger Taxpayer.
It’s funny that this blog that is so anti illegal immigrant is supporting the current businesses in the iron tri-angle which employee’s mostly undocumented workers. The funny thing is that the new project would create a bunch of new construction jobs plus many other permanent jobs for local legal residents.
"if you'd read the environmental analysis before spouting off on your conspiracy theory you'd know that the place is in a 100 year flood plain and needs to be razed and elevated in order to properly install plumbing and drainage"
HA HA HA HA there's a good portion of NYC within the 100-year flood plain and all those areas have sewers except Willets Point. That is one of the worst arguments I have ever heard!!!
Of course not all business will survive. Even if they all stayed where they are they wouldn't all survive. We shouldn't improve the area unless we guarantee that all the businesses currently there will "survive"? Pretty weak Crapper.
______________________
Why is this weak? Lieber said that as a result of the relocation, the businesses wouldn't survive. Words out of his mouth, not Crapper's.
"It’s funny that this blog that is so anti illegal immigrant is supporting the current businesses in the iron tri-angle which employee’s mostly undocumented workers."
The Iron Triangle has large factories and industrial businesses that are not automotive in nature and employ many legal citizens. They've been profiled on this blog repeatedly. Get your head out of your tweeding ass already.
How the hell is mass transit supposed to handle all these extra people?
the area is in desperate need of affordable housing. between the 7 train, the numerous bus routes and the LIRR there is PLENTY of transport. Further, the area is SURROUNDED BY FLUSHING BAY and the LARGEST PARK in the City.. so how could you say the immediate area is over crowed???
Any area without the proper infrastructure over a period of time would end up looking like that as well. Just imagine your street without sewers. Now imagine it without sewers for 30 years. Wouldn't you be pissed?
there were NEVER SEWERS in the iron triangle. this is a point that everyone misses.. the area never had this infrastructure. existing businesses built there FULLY KNOWING there was no infrastructure.
the area has been blighted for near 100 years. its time to fix this eyesore and build something in this underutilized space.
all these existing owners who have dollar signs hoping to capitalize on a change in zoning should step aside.
"further, why should the current residents and landowners benefit from such a massive capital improvement when the purchased and built their businesses on land filled swamp marsh? to demand that the city come in and spend 200-300 million to install sewers and drainage so THEY can presumably sell at a significantly higher price is ridiculous."
Why is this ridiculous when it should have been done decades ago when the rest of the sewers were installed? Why were they mistreated and neglected for decades if not because of the city's desire to make a huge land grab? Why should a private developer get the sewers and the profits?
Why is this ridiculous when it should have been done decades ago when the rest of the sewers were installed?
learn a little about the history of the area before spouting off
Willets Point is built on a land filled marsh area. it was previously a garbage dump and an ash dump before most of the area was leveled and paved for the worlds fair.
the current businesses grew in the area in the years after the 1930's Worlds Fair.
there were NEVER sewers and drainage in the iron triangle. just auto parts companies dumping toxic waste into the flushing river.
lets continue to have this for another 50years.. good idea.
"fully knowing there was no infrastructure"
They were promised sewers for decades. In fact, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the city lured businesses there with the promise that they would get sewers. This is 2008 and there is absolutely no excuse for why there are no sanitary sewers there. None whatsoever.
The Iron Triangle has large factories and industrial businesses that are not automotive in nature and employ many legal citizens.
most if not ALL of these industrial businesses received huge tax breaks and incentives to move there and balance the chop shops and illegal activities in the western end of the area.
so now these business owners want another trip to the trough and receive additional funds over and above fair market value to move their businesses and receive yet more tax breaks and incentives..
sounds like the money grab is the land owners.
"affordable housing"
"underutilized land"
Sounds like a politician or developer's words. No regular person speaks this way because there is no clearcut definition of these things.
"most if not ALL of these industrial businesses received huge tax breaks and incentives to move there"
Most of them moved there decades ago. What a crock of shit you're peddling!
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the city lured businesses there with the promise that they would get sewers.
FLATLY INCORRECT.. look up SOni from House of Spices in the NYT.. HE HIMSELF said he has no idea the area didnt have sewers before he moved in..
Most of them moved there decades ago. What a crock of shit you're peddling!
Soni and Fodera received 20 year tax abatements and bought the land at below market value with low or no interest loans.. this is a fact.. Soni moved in in 1990 and Fodera in 1970.
read a little about the situation before starting your conspiracy theory arguements.
"Willets Point is built on a land filled marsh area. it was previously a garbage dump and an ash dump before most of the area was leveled and paved for the worlds fair."
Learn history and geography before commenting. Willets Point was never an ash and garbage dump, Flushing Meadows was. Willets Point was farms. It's in the history of Corona and available in online photos at NYPL.org. And the resident who lives there mentioned it in the NY Times article.
1970 is 3 1/2 decades ago and 1990 is almost 2 at this point. So where's the conspiracy theory? It's the truth. How about the multigenerational businesses that are there?
Willets Point was farms.
nice try.. but the area being duscussed was NOT historically called Willets Point. The historical Willets Point was actually under the Whitestone Bridge.
the peninsula NOW referred to as Willets POint was a landfilled marsh and ash dump just like Flushing Medows.
Wrong again. Willets Point that Ardizzone refers to is where he still lives - in the Iron Triangle. He said it was farms. He was living there before the World's Fair.
The Mets moved in knowing the Iron Triangle was there.
Ardizzone is full of shit.
if he was there before the worlds fair he was paved over for the creation of the parkways that run overhead.
So Flushing Meadows Park was an ash dump, but this area, which is directly next to it, was farms? That doesn't sound right.
Why not? The area on the other side was houses - the town of Corona.
Ardizzone's family has stated he is senile
His brain is no doubt so chock filled with mercury and other toxic substances from living in that area.
he should be forcibly removed for his own good.
What a desperate statement. Wow. You're pathetic.
"good God.. to compare paying someone fair market for their land to marching someone into a death cauldron is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard."
Fair market value? The current owners aren't selling! The city is taking! Preventing the current property owners from deciding their own use for the property - such as handing it off to their own children, rather than seeing the already wealthy developers handing it off to their children.
I'm certain that the current legitimate, taxpaying and deliberately neglected property owners don't get insulted by the perfectly proper comparison of their plight to that of the victims of those totalitarian regimes. A victim is a victim is a victim.
The writer is clearly one of the vulture cheerleader beneficiaries mentioned in my comment.
the city should go in and enforce the thousands of building code violations and shut down these unsafe working conditions.
thee area is like Calcutta and needs to be cleared.
The area is like Calcutta because, like Calcutta, the government neglected it. And as for building violations, the city won't grant permits for buildings there because it wants them out!
most of the structures along 126th street are shanty shack fire hazards that couldnt pass a building, health or fire inspection.
the landlords subjecting tenants to these conditions is the real crime.
if this was living conditions people would be in jail. that there are largely illegal immigrants working there doesnt make it right to allow unsafe workign conditions to continue.
Why not? The City has no problem with them LIVING in these same conditions in illegal apartments 10 to a room.
You have to go after the clubhouse personally:
Clair Shulman why are you taking daddy's job.
Put the community back in the community board.
Wake up public: the clubhouse serves developers not you.
stuff like that. big bildboards. busy highways. i assure you in a few weeks they will run.
or is it the fact that 'support' from Valloone and Monserante stopping you? if so be careful...
all bugs, especially the little knawing bugs you find in the clubhouse, hates light and public attention.
the peninsula NOW referred to as Willets POint was a landfilled marsh and ash dump just like Flushing Medows.
------
Wrong, you sound like one of the 'historians' that hang out at Queens Historical Society.
It got its name because of Willets Pt Blvd.
This was an island at the mouth of Flushing Creek called Jonkers Island, because it was owned by Adrian Von Der Donk of Yonkers fame.
In the 1800s it was known as St Ronans's Well because a large and very deep lake was in the middle of it.
A fantastic place for highrises, don't you think?
"SAVE WILLETS POINT"
if that is the best you can do, go home.
it sounds like the people that are advising you have contacts with the other side.
i know it got its name because of WP Blvd.. but Willets POINT was a diffrent location historically.
..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Totten,_New_York
from wikipedia
Construction began on Fort Totten in 1862 after the land was purchased by the U.S. Government in 1857 from the Willets family. The fort sits on a peninsula formerly known as Willets Point, near Bayside in Queens County, New York.
so therefore "Willets Point" historically was in the current location of Fort Totten.. the current Willets Point was a garbage and ash dump in the early 1900's.. NOT farmland with goats.
If church groups were gathering there in 1884, it was probably pretty nice: NY Times article.
and your trivial point is what?
go dig up Arbitration Rock
again.
Around 1900, the city of Queens leased a large portion of the swamp to a
Brooklyn ash removal company. Fishhooks McCarthy, the owner of the company, also acquired
the right to dump incineration ashes into the tidal marshland. It is estimated that McCarthy
dumped approximately 50 million cubic yards of ash into the swampland between 1906 and
1932. The dumping left the area with a layer of ash 30 feet thick on average, with mountains of
ash rising up to 90 feet, an eerie sight that led F. Scott Fitzgerald to declare the area a “valley of
ashes” in his novel The Great Gatsby. By the early 1930s, residential development had increased
in the nearby areas of Corona and Flushing, and with it came increased political opposition to
the use of the Willets Point area for dumping. Subsequently, in 1934 the City cancelled its
contract with McCarthy and ceased dumping in the area.
so the CITY of QUEENS leased the land to Fishhooks as an ash dump.. where were the goats and chickens during this time? in the swamp and marsh land?
What is the source of that history?
The EDC!!!! Oh, my God, do these tweeders think we are fucking stupid? They are quoting the EDC's report that of course is going to make it sound like the area was always a dump!
I like how they used the term "Willets Point area" since it was actually outside Willets Point. Kind of like saying the greater New York area when you mean northern NJ. The dumps were called the Corona dumps and they sat adjacent to the town of Corona. They didn't spread as far as the Flushing River.
Why didn't the city install sewers in before businesses were invited in? If the site really was ash dumps, then it should have been an easy thing to do.
Taxpayer - of course the businesses may not be offended by your disgusting comparison, they are not the ones you are demeaning by saying that their situation is comparable to holocaust victims. When will you get tired of making such low-grade, insulting comments?
Look, eminent domain abuse is the one issue where people from the far left and far right agree, and polls of NYC residents show that only about 14% approve of the taking of private land to build sports arenas, etc. It's just plain wrong, no matter what kind of spin you put on it. The founding fathers are rolling over in their graves.
Around 1900, the city leased a large portion of the marshland stretching from the mouth of the Flushing
River to present day Forest Hills, to a Brooklyn ash removal company and granted them the right to dump
incineration ashes into the tidal marshland. Historical sources estimate that approximately 50 million
cubic yards of ash were dumped into the swampland between 1906 and 1932. The dumping left the area
with a layer of ash 30 feet thick on average, with mountains of ash rising up to 90 feet.
The ash dumps were taken by eminent domain by the City in order to make way for the World's Fair. Moses wanted a park there, and in order to get one, convinced the City that a World's Fair at the site would make money for the city. He built the Fair with the stipulation that it would remain a park afterwards. Willets Point was never part of the dumps and therefore is not part of the park. So Ardizzone probably is telling the truth.
Here you go:
Robert Moses and ‘The Great Gatsby'
the founding fathers are NOT rolling over in their graves over eminient domain.. ED has been around for over 1,000 years. it was a part of English law and subsequently a chapter in the Magna Carta.. in fact. the fifth ammendment to the consitution modified law to allow ED ONYL with Fair compensation.
get some facts right at least.
The founding fathers authored eminent domain provisions. They would be against eminent domain abuse.
what is NOW willets POint was used as a staging ground for construction material and equipment for the building of the worlds fair and the highway system by Moses..
it was a swamp marsh land and then used as an ash dump "from the mouth of the Flushing river to Forest Hills.
and the land was LEASED to Fishhooks so ED did not apply.. nice try though
Nope, looks like WP was never part of what the city owned:
"But when Moses moved to incorporate Willets Point into his plan, the junkyard owners pooled their money and hired Mr. Cuomo to defend them in court. Mr. Cuomo argued eloquently on their behalf, and Moses was barred from using state money to buy the land."
Thank you, Mario! Can we coax you out of retirement?
of course the founding fathers knew about and supported eminent domain. they authored the 5th amendment to halt takings without just compensation.
Willets Point is exactly what ED is for.. the public will be served greatly by the improvements to willets point.
if you think the taking is against the 5th amendment then take it to the supreme court.
"and the land was LEASED to Fishhooks so ED did not apply.. nice try though"
Sorry, I meant the rest of the land for what is now Flushing Meadows. Eminent domain is mentioned in several articles from the time period.
Founding fathers stated it was for public purpose/common good. This is not. It's for private gain. That's why 42 other states have passed legislation since Kelo prohibiting this type of land grab.
"the public will be served greatly by the improvements to willets point."
How is building a convention center, hotel and more private housing units helping anyone other than those profiting off it?
you people have a warped sense of history..
the swamp land / ash dump land was paved over and used as a staging ground in the 1930's for the FIRST WORLDS FAIR
during the WW2 years the land was sold off to auto junk yards and such
Cuomo came along in the 60's when the city wanted to take the land to encorporate it into the SECOND WORLDS FAIR,
How is building a convention center, hotel and more private housing units helping anyone other than those profiting off it?
lets see....
a convention center and hotel creates jobs and tourist/business activity.
retail provides jobs and services for those living in and vistiing in the area
affordable housing? hmm.. that a tough one..
"How is building a convention center, hotel and more private housing units helping anyone other than those profiting off it?"
Every time I go there and I won't have to look at a disgusting mess, and I'll have places to walk, shop, eat, attend conventions, see nice places to live, have lots more jobs in the area, I, and the rest of the public, will benefit.
These things will not be owned by the public. They will be owned privately. The public will not profit off this at all. And they will raise our taxes to pay off this boondoggle. Our subways and buses will become more crowded, and the "affordable housing" which is an absolute joke, will benefit a handful of people and after a few years will be phased out.
There's already jobs and services being offered there. Maybe not the ones you like, but they still have a right to work there.
And there you have it - another corner of NYC being developed for tourists. Nothing left for those who actually live and work here in areas outside of tourism. Can we stop with the Disneyfication of everything already? Wasn't Times Square enough?
Times square is a great example..25 years ago I wouldn't walk thru it at any time of day for a real fear of being mugged or acosted by pornographers .. Today I can stroll thru at anytime.. And the businesses that have been brought in have made it a true destination for all and money tree for the city..
Sounds like WP today...can't wait
Thats interesting.Disneyfication and Gentrification being used by people on the right when it was the left who came up with the words against corporate dominance we saw coming years ago.
How do you know the political affiliation of the commenter?
Both Republicans and Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives are against eminent domain abuse. Only selfish developers or their bobbleheads are for it.
How can the first commenter claim it's well planned when they don't have a developer for the site yet? LOL
All this talk about eminent domain and the founding fathers. Would they really have approved of automobile muffler and replacement windshield shops in the 1780's?
If they had cars, maybe.
"ll this talk about eminent domain and the founding fathers. Would they really have approved of automobile muffler and replacement windshield shops in the 1780's?"
Back then, the same types of businesses had different names like Blacksmiths and wheelwrights. I'm pretty sure the founding fathers approved of them since they traveled on horses and in wagons.
From the standpoint of a fan of the NY Mets and nothing more, the Iron Triangle area is a blight and when the team (which brings the City millions every year) builds a new home, it does not want that home to look like it's on the outskirts of Baghdad.
They have conference rooms in ths stadium and want to draw events and outings there. They will have restaurants open 1 2months a year. Do you really think someone is going to go there given the surroundings?
Look at other cities that have built new baseball parks and what has occurred in the surrounding areas. You will see similar things... It's all about $$.
Funny, if these kids want to do something useful for the Mets, instead of picking on their fellow New Yorkers who work and own property at the Iron Triangle, how about protesting that the Mets are building a SMALLER stadium, HIGHER ticket prices, and CATERING to the rich in their skyboxes on public parkland.
looks like someone hit a nerve. we have a lot of people working for the city here trying to push there plan with the same old mumbo jumbo as day 1 . 1) all of downtown manhattan is in the flood plain as well as downtown flushing but no one is raising them 6ft 2)pollution the citys own eis states that there is minimal contamination and they have admitted so in hearings but keep saying it in the press 3) theCITY IS THE ONE THAT DIDNT PROVIDE THE SERVICES , STREETS ,SEWERS AND ENFORCEMENT ( IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG,ILLEGAL DUMPING ,POLLUTING ECT) IT IS YOUR JOB TO ENFORCE IT. now the city wants to throw out all the legitiamte businesses that have survived dispite their neglect to give it to a developer who pays off all these politicans so they can get it. anyone who is for this plan needs to look at their communist face in the mirror and say mugambi 3x and then pray that 1 day this horror doesn't happen to them. please all city empoyees and evan stavinsky lobbist get back to work your wasting our tax $$$ as usaual
the City's reckless plan"
What is reckless about it? It seems very well-planned actually;
"to destroy thousands of jobs for working men and women"
The plan calls for business relocation assistance and worker re-training, and the new development will create thousands of new jobs, among other benefits;
"by stealing their private property"
Sorry, but the city is buying the property, and if eminent domain is used, it is not stealing. The property owner gets market value for the property;
"to help a politically-connected developer."
Sure, the city is not doing this to clean up a disgusting area and provide for great new homes, retail, parks, hospital and school in one of the most significant areas in all of Queens. No, the city is doing this just to help a politically-connected developer. Ridiculous.

WHO EVER BLOGED THIS HAS TO BE THE BIGEST ASSHOLE I HOPE THE CITY TAKES HIS LAND WHEN THE CITY USES ED THAY DONT PAY MARK PRICE THAY PAY 1/2 AND YOU HAVE TO SUE FOR THE REST DICK HEAD THIS IS WHY THE CITY WILL LOUSE THIS ONE
Nice to see that the Shulman/Stavisky mob has to spend their hours scoping this site, attempting to counter the truthful statements made here by piling on some more mountains of Parkside's patent poorly skilled BS!
Why don't you post a billboard on your fat ass Evan to advertise your thievery ?
