Luxury Queens Crap in LIC!

I still can't believe that people are plunking down millions of dollars for what basically amounts to Queens Crap in LIC. Was this designed by Frank Lloyd Crap?

You could be right--the "Vizcaino" (as I think it's called) reminds one of the bizarro structure in the original, 1959 chiller classic, "House On Haunted Hill." I was quite taken aback to learn just last year that the decaying residence, in L.A., is actually a F. L. Wright creation, the Ennis Brown House. Somewhere, the ghosts of Vincent Price and legendary film showman William Castle are having a yuk at those who (badly) ape the screwball look of the film's spooky mansion.

Thanks for sending the link to the Ennis House. Looks like an interesting place!

Aww, Crapper is bitter that people more successful than him are happy moving into LIC.

I would like to see what this pile of shit looks like 30 years from now.

How would you know what my net worth is? Besides, read the comments on Curbed and you'll soon realize that the architecture obsessed also think this is a big pile of doo-doo.

I don't understand it. Can no one build a beautiful home anymore? I mean, what's the deal? Is it cheaper to build ugly?

Indeed. Stop bad-mouthing my masterpiece. A work of art like this is many years in the making. This was inspired by my trip to the slums of Mexico City. The apartments are stacked one on top of the other, just like the shacks in ole Mehico. I named it in honor of Jose Vizcaino just for you Crappy, you big Mets fan.

Its got conveniences and upgrades- like wondows that open out from the bottom to create an authentic factory look. I added some quick-rust compound to the balconies so they will like nice and brown in a few years. Brown like crap!

LIC is the best place to build. The lack of supermarkets and the fact that the place will be underwater if we ever get a major hurricane doesn’t stop stupid yuppies from buying. So I gotta keep building.

Just like the piles of crap that were built 30 years ago. Color glazed brick??? flat front facades with no details whatsoever?? Stuff back then wasnt that much better...in many cases it was worse. And before I get a huge backlash for that comment, I mean anything post war.

In a word, YES!

You got to realize that foreign money buying this and the guest workers moving into this is a bit like the drunk guy going to bed with the ugly girl.

Who cares. Tomorrow is another day.
