Woman Sexually Assaulted In Queens
NEW YORK (NBC) -- Police said a woman was sexually assaulted in Queens, but they won't say whether they believe it's linked to the pattern of rapes that has left a community in terror.
The assault happened near 143rd Street and 119 Avenue in South Jamaica, just blocks away from a recent attack in Springfield Gardens.
The age of the victim was unknown. She was transported to Queens General Hospital.
The crime scene appears to be in a residential area with a bus stop one block away. Most of the rapes in which police are looking for two suspects have occurred at or near bus stops. There have been at least 14 incidents, police said.
