Any of you shop at these stores?

DILBERT'S!!! In Flushing, on Main Street between Maple and Sanford Avenues, across the street from the Post Office.

Flushing WAS a nice town.

My parents would take me to Main Street every weekend shopping. I'm talking about Gertz, Alexander's and Woolworth etc. Does anyone remember The Wiz and Busy Bee flea market? And it actually was not considered a slum then. What happened?
Ah, the good old days.

Hey look at photo #2. Remember when Communists were called "Reds". Ha!

This is sad.

It tells of a time when Queens used to have middle America, quality merchandise, even high end merchadise.

Now its 99 cent pigstys, bodegas, and pimp/hooker clothing stores on shopping strips that are dieing.

Korvettes! They were in the Hills shopping center which is now where the Toys R Us is in Douglaston. I remember my parents dragging us there on the weekend for their regular shopping excursion. Oh the trauma.
