Phone-on-the-corner crap

Hey, now...how about this for "luxury"? Next door to an auto body shop, these 3-story, "2-family" beauties (5 of them) along Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village have been fancied up with two-tone stucco. Well, you know what they say about lipstick on a pig... One of the selling points is "If your phone is out of service, there's an antique landline on the corner."

The owner of these properties, NY Home Sales, has a bizarre photo montage entitled "How We Build" on their website. Here's a sample:

9 months on my lease and i am gone
a once really nice area being overun with shoddy developers and residents stuck in a time warp

And those "luxury houses" are being built on the site of a former gas station. Wait 'til they drink the water...
