The NY Times writes some interesting history articles......the dog waste problem is nothing compared with the horse manure problem of the 19th century.
Back then, 100,000 to 200,000 horses lived in the city. A typical horse produced from 15 to 30 pounds of manure (with the average output about 22 pounds) and about a quart of urine a day, usually distributed along the course of its route or deposited in the stable...

Nothing compared to the staggering volume of political horse shit that's generated in the NYC council chambers during each session(enough to fill a myriad of colossal chamber pots)!
And at least you can grow some
big juicy tomatoes from a bushel well cured horse manure!

The other day I was walking near where they keep the carriage horses near Central Park while waiting for riders. The smell of horses is really strong and I was thinking that all of the NYC must have smelled like that in the past.
When cars were introduced, they were considered a major step forward in pollution control.
There were so many flies from the horseshit that they invented the veil for a woman to wear so she wouldn't SWAT a fly in her face and get all covered in blood
Still happening today. As an activist me and others have tried a lot to stop this horse carriages. But nothing comes out!! Is time to bring more people. It’s nyc 2023 not the dark ages….
