Dear Crappy,
Here is a sign around my corner at 79th Street and Myrtle Ave. in Glendale. The name of the store is "The Furniture Gallery of Glendale".
Look close though. What the hell is a "dinning room", "foodton" or a "mattres"??? Apparently, they don't know how to spell too well.
I don't think they are as bright as some of those lights they sell.......

And the restaurant next door has a sale 'Especial Bistek'
Look, stop bellyaching.
They vote the right way and make perfect citizens contributing to the long term welfare of their community ...
... so that is all that matters.
Would it matter if it was in Chinese/Japanese/ Vietnamese/Korean language and English speaking Americans couldnt understand it?
You Know. Everyone knows. No country in the history of this planet has been more accomodating for immigrants.
Looks like Walter Sanchez' part-time job is signwork for this furniture galley.
And look, it sells chandeliers for McMansions!
How does this post go from being about bad spelling to immigration?
There are many native born Americans who can't spell or find major countries like Spain or Italy on a map, so please get off your high horses.
Bring back those quaint old fashioned "spelling bee" contests.
And....oh yes....it's high time that ENGLISH become our official national language!
If any immigrant desires to be further accomodated by having his ass kissed, he (or she) should go to one of those "massage parlors" (which might offer to perform that particular type of service).

Thank God we have the P.C. police trolling Queens Crap. How else would we realize that there are some Americans who are bad spellers? They usually realize they are bad spellers and have someone else do this kind of work for them.
So they went to a Korean sign maker who can't read or spell English properly!
Next time don't look for the cheapest price!
Ever notice...
"fresh fruits and vegetable"
on greengrocers awnings?
A common mistake in plural/singular usage among Asians.

I have traveled rather extensively in the south and rural west, areas with poor public schools.
I have never seen a store owner allow stuff like this.
Some people still care about maintaining an image they and their customers are educated -- even where tumbleweeds blow down main street and a cracker with half his teeth missing parks his '79 Toyota pickup in your parking lot.
OH MY GOD! I have walked past this place so many times and only made fun of the stupid name. I never noticed the spelling. Great catch!
What's a "cracker"?
Those Christ the King educated gals at Russo's bakery can't manage to spell a sign either and they were born here. My favorite error is the misuse of the apostrophe s, making nouns strangely possessive.

Until recently, there was a business which stated on its well-maintained truck that its office was located on a street called "Horse Hiding" - you know, the LIE service road street.
Three degrees of Moron:
1-The Sign Maker
2-The Proofreader
3-The Client.
"What's a "cracker"?"
It's a dry salty white biscuit that gets upset when other more colorful and flavorful cookies move into its box.
Most people don't eat crackers anymore bcause they're so bland.
a "cracker" is a term used for southern white people, this term came into use during the slavery period of our country when white people use to "crack" the whip
Yes, cracker is a derogatory term about white people, yet it seems to be perfectly acceptable to use in public for some reason.
Hey people! Before you post a comment on correct spelling, make sure you can spell ACCOMMODATE. Two c's and two m's. I saw it misspelled here a few times. Unfortunately, this has become the "norm" these days with these signs. I just can't understand that people actually PAY MONEY to someone to paint these misspelled ads. That's the sad part, if anything, it gives me a chuckle. I don't know who deserves to be at fault the most -- the sign painter or the customer paying for this garbage! My kids laugh at me because I always have at arm's reach, Webster's Dictionary. A former Ridgewoodian.
According to Wiki:
'"Cracker", sometimes "white cracker", is a pejorative term for a white person, mainly used in the Southern United States, but in recent decades it has entered common usage throughout North America.'
In other words its an insulting word, like Archie Bunker, that is ok to use because its directed at a white person.
I don't believe it's ok. But whites are supposed to look the other way because they are not oppressed like minorities have been.
I like Saltine Crackers. They go good with Lipton Soup. I also like topping them with Peanut Butter, although I prefer Ritz's Crackers when it comes to Peanut Butter.
So not the PC Police say I can use the word Cracker? What am I supposed to call them, Matzos? (oops, I just offended some Jews)
