I live near Forest Park where I see Red-Tailed Hawks for time to time.
However I've never seen one perched like this...great photo!
I've only seen them soaring a mile high. They have the distinct characteristic of just circling and circling; and while doing so they almost never flap their wings...they just glide.
That's pretty good insight for someone who's lived in Queens their whole life.
