Why don't drunk pols just take a cab?

Assemblyman Adam Clayton Powell IV, a Democrat who represents parts of Harlem and East Harlem and is a scion of one of New York’s most prominent political families, was arrested early this morning in Manhattan on charges of driving while intoxicated, according to his lawyer and law enforcement officials.

Most pols are content to be drunk with power.

I guess Adam the IVth wanted to do it the real
old fashioned way....pour it down his gullet!

Well....if a pol can't hold his liquor
maybe he shouldn't hold office either!

Judge Roy Bean could drink anybody under the table and still hold court....that's because he was a self respecting Texican (Texan) probably nursed as a child on 100+ proof corn liquor !

If any of us were to drink at work, we'd be fired.

Well, it's not as if the Assemblyman took a grandmother back to his campaign office and had his way with her.

How about a match-up with State Senator Sabini? A game of drunken "chicken" perhaps on the Triborough Bridge?

once saw an old movie about an elected official who could only make good speeches when he was crocked.

The mayor of Jersey City makes speeches when he's plastered all the time.

He also has the habit of wandering out of his house naked late at night, when he's "confused".
