If a tree falls in Queens, does anyone care?

There's nothing like a street tree to brighten up the block. Except when it's on an ugly concrete triangle along Astoria Blvd and split in half.

Has anyone kept track of Federoff Triangle (Queens Blvd & 67th Rd, Forest Hills) over the course of the past 8 months? A tree was knocked over and was on the ground for several months. Now it was removed and never replaced. The same goes for another tree over the past month which is now gone. I called in complaints, and the city is asleep. Guess we can't call it Forest Hills anymore... just Hills!; Friday, March 14, 2008

Anonymous said...: I made a request to have a greenstreet planted in Astoria....it was done in a matter of about 6 months (when the new planting season started). I received a letter within about 1 month advising me that they were going to look into it. 5 months later... trees and plants.

Instead of calling in complaints... why not call in to request to have a tree planted. Or Write a letter and include photos, maybe even a map. Thats what I did, and I got results. The key here is..... STOP COMPLAINING, and maybe you will see results; Friday, March 14, 2008
