Watch Channel 7's report on the Throgs Neck Bridge.
Thank you to the person who sent this in. He commented, "I thought everybody here would enjoy this article from 7online.com regarding the upcoming collapse of the Throgs Neck Bridge. If you take that bridge you better learn to swim, or fly."

Remember the Williamsburgh Bridge in the 80's? Bridges fall into disrepair, that's what happens, just like when your car breaks down.
If they bring it to light, chances are the city will get behind them to fix it. Not scold them.
Thanks for posting that.
This is what happens when you devote money to new development, rather than infrastructure.
Maybe someone can ask Doktoroff or the preservation community why this is so when they discuss NYC2030.
I just passed under there yesterday on the Cross Island.
Beams and bolts on the ramps are rusted like the New York State Pavillion in spots.
This extends all the way to the Clearview.
Also what looks like lots of slopply patched up loose bricks when going under the overpasses dow there
Thats pretty scary, I guess I will be going out of my way to catch the Whitestone Bridge
And of course, what, 90% of the money from the toll goes to Mass Transit, instead of to the bridge. There is NO excuse for a TOLL bridge to fall into disrepair - The tolls should be used to maintain the bridge FIRST, and leftovers go to mass transit
